It’s not the safest city in the world. But it has some great neighborhoods which people could safe even at nights. Not being alone and surrounded by other people is much more safe. Foreigner should stay away from some neighborhoods
Posted: January 22, 2025Istanbul is quite a different city in terms of safety. Similar to Barcelona, crimes such as pickpocketing are rare, but shopkeepers tend to overcharge under the guise of bargaining. Some districts of the city are safe and patrolled by the police, while others experience significant unease due to a high immigrant population. While crowded areas are safe even at night, some parts of the city completely sleep through the night. The nightlife is very limited relative to the population. In Kadıköy and Beyoğlu, upscale venues are recommended.

Istanbul is a metropolitan. So it depends where do you travel actually. Sarıyer, bebek, Kadıköy and the prince islands are safe places. But I can’t say the same for the touristic places like Eminönü, Fatih and taksim. I have never experienced a rubbery or something like that. But I heard from other people in these places. It’s always good to be cautious.
Posted: January 19, 2025depending on your location and neighborhood it can be pretty safe and pretty dangerous, so make sure to do your research before choosing the place you are going to stay in and also be careful about the possible scammers in the city
Posted: January 19, 2025It's very safe in general. But be careful in touristic areas, they might try to scam you by increasing the price. Especially in taxis. Always use Uber for taxi or public transportation is moderately safe too.

The people here are really kind and helpful but there are a minor population. And they are maniacs. I have never experienced anything bad but a lot of other woman have. You could always get help if anything happens tho.
Posted: January 5, 2025It changes based on the exact location. For example, many university students and younger people live in Kadıköy and Beşiktaş. You can be comfortable there. However, if you go to Esenyurt just God bless you
Posted: January 5, 2025Istanbul is a very beautiful city. It is mostly safe because people go out at night. However, that doesn't mean you can be reckless. Sometimes unexpected things can happen so always make sure you are safe. People are very friendly and fun. It has a deep culture. You can come across a historical building at any moment while traveling in Istanbul. Enjoy Istanbul.

It is pretty safe just like any other city in the world, if you can provide safety for yourself. There are good and bad areas to avoid, and you can prevent anything bad happening if you live in a safe environment and if you are cautious enough. I personally don't have safety problems in where I live. But I would suggest tourists to stay cautious about visiting places that they have never heard of!
Posted: January 1, 2025I am not sure about this. It depends on where you are, in Istanbul. Some places are very safe, so if you want to come to İstanbul. You should know safe places and trustable staying places. Its good to know someone who is local

Istanbul was my first Islamic city. I really liked the vibes and people in Istanbul. They were so hospitable and friendly, food is amazing. When I came back to Oslo I stoped to buy food because it was awful 😆. I felt very safe, even at night. But only one thing which I dislike is a lot of Russians people and their behaviour. They behaved like animals and were very loud

Istanbul, one of the oldest cities, full with historical heritage. • transport: Everything in the city centre is almost walk-by distance but if you want to go to some place a bit further I would suggest taking the “Istanbul card” as in some public transportations do not accept credit card, plus it is also cheaper. • budged: Feel free to bargain with the sellers 😂 Most of the times the prices are high as the ceiling. Be ready to hear - “For you, 10% discount) There are a lot of scammers, don’t fall for them and be careful.

I am an 20 year old engineering student in Istanbul, Turkey and I like to travel when I can spare time from school. I am also a part time musician and I play the flute in a youth symphony orchestra. I would like to meet new people around the world and become friends. I enjoy hosting the people I met and and showing them around. I would also be very excited to visit them in their country.
