Ankara is safe, especially touristic attractions. However, it is not a tourist city, it is capital because it is right in the middle and have the ministires and stuff. If you want to party, you can look at @ankaraforeigners, they usually have events. Party and drink in Tunalı, Bestekar. Stay in Kızılay, Bahçelievler, Tunalı. These are completely safe. Mamak, Kurtuluş are not safe 🩷

I like Ankara and i feel fairly safe here although i'm outdoors all the time during whenever! But i usually only hangout around certain areas which i recommend are Bahçeli and Tunalı. Pretty safe i'd say. But other areas get progressively worse so be careful!

It would not be a problem in the daytime at all but after the weather gets darker, i wouldn't be in the neighborhood of 'pavyon's alone. I do not think it also wouldnt be a problem if there is a man with you or your 2-3 girl group.
Posted: July 5, 2025Basically, I find the city quite safe because it’s not as chaotic as other as it is and even in crowded places, I said a lot of police officers, which makes me feel safe general rule as in all cities I would say after dark I do feel a little worried, but that might be my assumptions Just make sure not to use small district small streets after dark and overall will be safe public transportation is really comfortable and I have not yet had issue with it
Posted: July 1, 2025You do not need to worry in some areas in Ankara (like Bahçelievler, Çayyolu, Ayrancı) But i recommend you to always ask a local about when and with whom to visit some touristic places (like Ulus) Mostly there is no problem such as pick pocketing in Ankara. But catcalling is always a trouble in Türkiye. I believe this is another problem here, public transportation is not very developed, after late hours you may have to use taxi.

Last weekend, I went on a spontaneous trip in Ankara. I started with a short walk in Kızılay, then sat at Kuğulu Park and watched the surroundings. I walked along Tunalı Hilmi Street and spent some time in cafés. The calm yet lively atmosphere of Ankara felt really good. Especially while walking through Atatürk Boulevard, I could feel the historical texture of the city. Even though it was an unplanned trip, it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
Posted: May 8, 2025Experienced: October, 2024Ankara is a beautiful city but i think its a little bit boring. Anıtkabir was a must seen place i think my experience was really emotional. Tunalı was a good place. I tried cocktails at pint and they were delicious
