As a usual university student I feel pretty safe around the city. It is really big one and crowded but I would have give 4/5 overall. I can wear whatever I want in wherever I want because nobody cares. Also I can leave my stuff alone in cafe or library without worrying. However being little cautious doesn’t cost anything.
Posted: May 27, 2025People are mostly welcoming and hospitable, especially towards foreigners. We always want people to have very nice and positive experience in Turkey. Nevertheless you really need to know the troubled areas and safe areas, I would suggest carrying a whistle after dark in some areas just in case. And the app KADES is really helpful in all of Turkey.

Ankara is safe because it is capital of Turkey and because of that there are lots of civil and uniformed police around everywhere especially crowded, high profile places. There are some places that we can call getto other than that I don’t feel any disturbances. (But sometimes people can protest mostly at night those times I don’t like to go out)

Not safe. In Türkiye everyday woman’s, animals and children’s are murdered by mans. None of them taking valid punishment. They hanging around us. Law system is not working well. However, courages these people to do again.
Posted: May 14, 2025I think my city is quite safe compared to other Turkish cities mainly because it's a city that mostly office workers are living. Also there is not many tourists in here so sellers or taxi drivers are not trying to scam tourists

Last weekend, I went on a spontaneous trip in Ankara. I started with a short walk in Kızılay, then sat at Kuğulu Park and watched the surroundings. I walked along Tunalı Hilmi Street and spent some time in cafés. The calm yet lively atmosphere of Ankara felt really good. Especially while walking through Atatürk Boulevard, I could feel the historical texture of the city. Even though it was an unplanned trip, it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
