Ankara, main places are crowded and generally safe cause too many polices work anywhere in capital. Also public transport is easy and reliable day and night. Students and expats are located in center,Çankaya.

I always go out during the day, so I can't really comment on late-night safety. But during the daytime, Ankara is pretty safe. You can use public transportation without worrying. I don’t have much experience with taxis, but everyone agrees that Ankara has a good transportation system. I’ve been living in Ankara for four years and have never experienced any safety issues. Am I just lucky? I don’t think so — I believe it’s because my city is actually safe.
Posted: April 7, 2025It’s safe place. People usually thinks Turkey is not safe place but this is not true. The maximum thing will be the looking at you but not a weird way because they don’t used to see foreigners they look at you just for 3-4 seconds and they are going to do whatever they do
Posted: March 27, 2025Ankara is a generally safe place to live and travel. It is really easy to use public transportation also. It is not usual that you can experience sexual harassment in Ankara. But you have to be safe in the nights especially in dangerous neighborhoods
Posted: March 27, 2025As someone living in Ankara, I’d say the city is generally safe, especially in central areas like Kızılay, Çankaya, and Bahçelievler. Public transportation is reliable, and there’s a visible police presence in busy districts. However, like any major city, there are areas that feel less secure, especially late at night. I usually stay cautious in quieter streets and avoid isolated places after dark.

I wouldn't say it's a dangerous city, but you still need to be careful. The probability of something happening to you is low, but not impossible. Just like the rest of the world. People are helpful. Public transportation is safe. Police are usually always present in crowded places.

Its better than some cities but could be better. In turkey it is not easy to live as a women but it is hard all over the world. You have to take care of yourself during your travels and need to be careful in your accomodation choice.

I think Ankara is mostly a safe city. It may not be the safest but it definitely depends on which town you are in. Some neighbourhoods may be dangerous for women. If you are not alone, that's fine. If you are travelling alone, make sure you carry something in case you need to protect yourself.
Posted: February 12, 2025Ankara is the city of my dreams and I think it's the safest city in the country. That's why I love living here. It's great to stroll around and discover new places here. Moreover, Atatürk is here too, and this makes me feel at home. That's why I love Ankara.
Posted: February 7, 2025I would say some places in Ankara are pretty safe in daylight, but places such as Mamak,Keçiören,Sincan might not be that safe considering my experiences. Nothing particular has happened to me but I can say I dont feel super safe in these districts. Moreover, when it gets dark I dont ever feel safe I m guessing any women feel this way :(

Ankara is a beautiful city but i think its a little bit boring. Anıtkabir was a must seen place i think my experience was really emotional. Tunalı was a good place. I tried cocktails at pint and they were delicious
Posted: August 26, 2024Experienced: July, 2024The city was amazing and beautiful and the people were friendly with tourists. I reserved a really cheap hotel because I had little budget, but despite the prices it was really great and I also met a new friend, that by my solo trip, I think that was amazing;)

Hi, I’m Deniz! I’m a 18-year-old student from Türkiye with a big passion for creativity, storytelling, and exploring the world one adventure at a time. I’m an artist and writer at heart—I love sketching, journaling, and finding inspiration in everyday beauty, whether it’s in a quiet alley in Paris or a bustling café in Berlin. I’ve traveled to several European countries and love connecting with different cultures, especially through local art, food, and architecture. I’m the type of person who will stop to admire the light hitting a building just right or spend an hour in a little bookstore tucked away in a side street. When I’m not studying or working on school projects, I’m usually listening to music (Lana Del Rey is a comfort artist for me), watching animated films, or planning my next trip. I believe in kind conversations, meaningful moments, and finding magic in small things. If you’re someone who enjoys deep talks, spontaneous detours, or just wants a travel buddy to explore cities with, I’d love to connect!
