Erzurum is a safe City, but you need to be careful about what you wear. It is like in a arabic City, If you wear a short Siirt they stare at you. Also I recommend you to not stay outside after Some certain hours.
Posted: June 2, 2024Since the city is in the east side of Turkey, it's a more of a rude city than kind. They don't know much English and the barrier between a woman and a man is so harsh. They don't sit with the opposite sex on the bus but they are not ashamed of catcalling. They seem to respect the woman but also they don't respect. I don't recommend being alone after midnight as a girl. I studied here for 6 years, I live in Antalya normally. And I have to say, I cried a lot, esp in the bus and the roads. I can't wear anything I want unfortunately.
