It is one of the safest places in Turkey. There are some dangerous places to enter like every city but if you stay in central areas it is pretty safe. People are helpful so you can ask for help if you feel that you are in danger
Posted: August 10, 2025This is the most socially developed city of Turkey. People here are more helpful and kind than the rest of the country. Most of the people are aware of the dangers for woman and even an insulting situation, people of this city always backs up with womans and people always react to abusers.
Posted: July 29, 2025İzmir is safe city but after dark still needs to be careful . You can still check some locations before visiting but also police mostly avaliable. Taxi is safe also you can use Uber or Bitaksi , you can share your location with your friends if you want
Posted: July 6, 2025overall izmir is a safe city compared to other cities in turkey however, due to all the news we hear on daily basis around the world i am pretty worried and scared of them all. I wouldnt suggest walking on the street after 11.30pm and in a back alley after dark. Not that something is gonna happen but its better to be safe than sorry
Posted: May 24, 2025I believe that even though Turkey might not be the safest country to live Izmir is not like that this city is quite safe for women and staying out for the entire night didn't create any problems in past for me

I went to İzmir with my family last summer and it was amazing. I visited for the first time. They camped at a camping site around two weeks (I joined them for the remaining 4 days). If you come to İzmir you shouldn’t leave without visiting Ephesus Ruins. I would recommend visiting at night because it’s so hot during day and it looks even more breathtaking with the lightnings at night.
