How safe is Izmir?

Generally safe city in Turkey, But the hours with public transport are generally safer until night 24.00, I don't think after midnight , dark hours in the world is completely safe . There is no need to walk on deserted streets at midnight, prefer central places

In general, except the dangerous suburbs, I can say Izmir is safe. Tourists and different cultures always welcomes. During the day, I think it’s completely safe, you can walk around in peace and explore the city. But after dark, especially after midnight, it’s better to prefer crowded places to stay safe.

Actually Izmir is safer than many cities, people are more sensitive and helpful, but the news I hear in the country and around the world scares me. That's why I try to be more careful. But as a woman, I hate feeling unsafe. I return home late at night in Izmir, but I feel uneasy.

In Türkiye, people know İzmir as the country's most enjoyable, safest, and most modern city. Women can comfortably eat, drink, and watch the sunset. Additionally, women can feel relaxed while walking at night. The people of İzmir are very polite; you can ask anyone for help, and they would be happy to assist you.

if you stay in the center and do not stay at very late at night, its a safe city. Tourist areas like Alsancak are very crowded on the weekends, but do not go to places like the historical elevator ( tarihi asansör) and kadifakale alone and at night. Stay in the crowd as much as possible. And do not show that you are a tourist.

The security level varies depending on the regions. For example, while it's normal for someone to catcall you while walking on the streets of Çankaya and its backstreets, this is much less common on the Bostanlı coastline.

Izmir's general public is kind to people they don't know. They adapt to societal rules. It is one of the most reliable cities in Turkey. Traveling on the streets when it gets dark is not a problem; it is very enjoyable and fun because it is a big city. I go for a walk every morning. In the evening, I go to the shops. 🤍

İzmir is safe more than İstanbul and other big cities. People are love each other, respect and kind each other. But sometimes it can be dangerous outside because some people dont know how to behave in public

While the city center is quite safe, neighborhoods that are a bit away from the popular areas can be dangerous. Therefore, getting lost in backstreets may not be very safe. Alsancak, Bayraklı, Bornova, Karşıyaka, Mavişehir, Urla, and Foça are among the safe neighborhoods.

İzmir is generally safe, except for a few areas that you might want to avoid. The Konak area, Bostanlı area, and the area from Üçyol to Urla are pretty safe. I would avoid the inner neighborhoods.

I was there camping and had to tell you that I left my heart in Izmir when I came back to the İstanbul🥹. The food, sea, and people, and every second I spent there was a magnificent memory for me. I am thinking about going to Izmir this summer again if I have my chance.

I unfortunately lost all my photos, but I remember that it was a quiet and very friendly place. The locals were very warm. The meals were splendid and very exotic for the time.
