It's relatively safe. When there's a soccer match, the city is busy. During high-risk matches, fans are escorted separately through the city. On such days, the train station is closed. Since the Ramstein military base is nearby, many Americans are in Kaiserslautern. Therefore, the German police patrol jointly with the military police, which in itself isn't a bad thing. The city center is currently being renovated and is now much brighter in the dark.
Posted: March 31, 2025Kaiserslautern is a small City with a lot of different people. The Rammstein Air Base is really near and we have a lot americans around too. The University in KTown is really big so also a lot of different people from around the world are here too.
Posted: January 2, 2025It's a very family-oriented town here. It is small, and there are a lot of cafes for families and children. The nature here is also very beautiful, and many people come for vacations or maybe to go for a walk in the forest.
Posted: December 26, 2024Kaiserslautern is a pretty calm city. I only don't feel safe walking alone for along time in the dark. I never had problems but it feels weird. Also never had problems in public. Always feel save when I'm downtown.
Posted: August 21, 2024It‘s mostly safe, but I wouldn‘t walk alone as a woman when its dark. The‘r creapy people around the shopping Mall and often knife attacks, wouldn‘t go there either. But generally it‘s safe in Kaiserslautern:)
