Safety:Very safe

Gold Coast generally offers a safe environment for solo female travelers. Numerous tourist facilities and well-structured public transportation are available which makes moving around less stressful. Additionally, locals are quite friendly and helpful. However, like any other city, it's important to stay vigilant especially during night time and in less crowded areas.

Transport:Easy

Navigating the Gold Coast can be done with ease, even for a solo traveler. The region is quite tourist-friendly, with a diverse range of transportation options like taxis, buses, and light rail systems. Most areas are well covered and routes are easy to figure out. However, traveling between more remote locations may require planning and possibly private transportation.

Things to do:Interesting

Gold Coast, has a vast array of activities that make it very interesting for every solo female traveler. The turquoise surf beaches offer prime spots for surfing or simply relaxing on the sandy shores. Adventurous souls can explore Hinterland's rainforest trails and wildlife sanctuaries to immerse themselves in nature's beauty. The city also has a reputation for its vibrant night scene, with numerous restaurants and bars. Numerous world-class shopping opportunities abound for retail therapy. However, the city's attractiveness is slightly lowered by its crowded and touristy nature, but overall it remains a dynamic location.

Food:Above average

A gastronomic delight awaits you in Gold Coast. The fresh seafood is a must-try, while the abundance of local and international cuisines, ranging from Asian to European and Australian classic dishes, fulfills diverse food pallates. Well-known for barbeque, brunch spots, acai bowls and homemade ice creams, you won't be disappointed. However, exquisite gourmet options can be a bit pricey. Vegans and vegetarians might need to search a bit more, but there are still some great choices.

Budget:Moderate

Gold Coast has a mix of budget and luxury experiences. While accommodations, especially in beachfront areas, can be quite pricey, there are cheaper hostel options for budget travelers. Many of the natural attractions, like the beaches and national parks, are free to explore. Dining can range from affordable to high-end, and transportation primarily via buses and trams is reasonably priced.

Is Gold Coast worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

I solo travelled to the Gold Coast alone for 10 months. It is a place I love so much and really enjoyed. I never felt unsafe there. Never had problems walking around alone at night, although it’s something I don’t recommend. People there are very friendly and easy to come in contact with. Going to the beach is a must! Burleigh beach, Tallebudgera Creek and Rainbow bay are my favorites! Watching the sunsets and sunrises while sitting at the beach is just incredible. For food I recommend Paddock’s bakery and Helen’s Heavenly Wholefoods cafe for the best açaí bowls! To get around buses work great, get a go kart as soon as you get there. Safe travels❤️!
