Gold Coast is really safe. I've been living here for the last seven years and I never had any issues. It's a beautiful and safe city for women to feel secure when walking alone, especially at night time.
Posted: February 2, 2025The gold coast whilst being a famous tourist destinations houses a lot of people under the influence of drugs, as well as many homeless people which can cause a safety concern for people, especially women

Gold Coast is very safe for women!! But unfortunately like anywhere as a woman you should always be cautious and careful, the only negative experiences I have had have surrounded catcalling or verbal assault and this is generally very late at night by people who are intoxicated. I didn’t feel threatened though and there is always help around if you need it

Gold Coast is very safe, the people around here are harmless and very nice Lots of young people around who would help you out if you ever got stuck, lots of families live here and lots of tourists are always here
Posted: January 4, 2025I think depending on which area you are in, circumstances will change - but generally the less touristy areas such as the Southern end are much safer and less busy compared to the likes of Surfers Paradise
Posted: January 1, 2025Gold Coast is safe majority of the time. There’s is a bit of youth crime in certain suburbs but more so just young kids messing around. Places like surfers paradise I would be more worried about as it is much more of a party scene and people have been attacked before.

The Gold Coast is a very safe place for solo women to travel. Hostels are very safe and you are very unlikely to experience sexual harrassment in any form from people on the street. It is very safe to walk after dark and use public transport at night if you take a normal level of precaution.

Pretty safe! The worst would be going out at night from drunk men - chance of assault. Domestic violence is very high in Australia, so I would very much be wary of men. Surfers Paradise (clubs) have drunk and unruly people, more drugs and violence may be seen. However the police regularly patrol the club areas for this reason. Late night public transport is also unadvised as it has more sketchy people (unhoused people with mental illness, troubled youth) that may make you uncomfortable - best to just ignore them me. Any public areas should have people around to help and transport should have emergency buttons. I have always found good people to help me stay safe. Otherwise, everyday activities should have no safety issues.
Posted: June 16, 2024The Gold Coast is very safe but it depends where you go. North Gold Coast where the clubs are is more busy and alcohol driven while south Gold Coast is more nature and calm atmosphere. I recommend to visit south Gold Coast and the beaches down this way.
Posted: June 12, 2024Variation amount suburbs but I feel safe in my area of Palm beach on the Gold Coast. Streets are well maintained and there are lots of opportunities to enjoy local shops and beaches with peace of mind.

I solo travelled to the Gold Coast alone for 10 months. It is a place I love so much and really enjoyed. I never felt unsafe there. Never had problems walking around alone at night, although it’s something I don’t recommend. People there are very friendly and easy to come in contact with. Going to the beach is a must! Burleigh beach, Tallebudgera Creek and Rainbow bay are my favorites! Watching the sunsets and sunrises while sitting at the beach is just incredible. For food I recommend Paddock’s bakery and Helen’s Heavenly Wholefoods cafe for the best açaí bowls! To get around buses work great, get a go kart as soon as you get there. Safe travels❤️!

Hello everyone! My name is Lua and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I've been in Australia for almost 8 years. I love the outdoors so much; going for a run, ride, swim or walk. As a Mediterranean girl, I love going to beach ⛱️. I also enjoy traveling, drawing, reading, painting and writing. It's my first time traveling solo and I'm so excited! Would love meeting new people and cultures. Let's make plans!
