Let the devils take Brisbane, it's boring. You need to go to Fraser Island off the coast of Queensland, it's the largest sandy island in the world. (About 3/4 hour north of Brisbane) One day is not enough, it's best to book 2-3 days. It is also close to Bundaberg, where depending on the season you can observe whales / watch turtles hatch. And dive on the coral reef. Gold Coast (1 hour south of Brisbane) has amusement parks and beautiful beaches with white sand. Beautiful hinterland with rainforests and waterfalls. Shopping. It's like Brisbane, but 10 times better (except for the nightlife).

Hey, currently living on the Sunshine Coast in QLD. A recent move after living in Melbourne and Sydney. I'm doing my first solo trip since my marriage ended. I've travelled extensively but never on my own. Exciting times! I'm 46 years old but very young at heart. I love dancing, reading, travelling and trying new food. Hopefully I can meet some people who want to get together and have a few drinks, relax at the beach or pool, grab some eats and maybe, go for a dance!
