I visited Birmingham with my mom and baby, and while it felt pretty safe overall, I was honestly underwhelmed. There were a lot of homeless people around, and the city felt very dirty, especially on the weekends. Airbnb rentals were surprisingly expensive, and while the food wasn’t bad, it was pretty average and not as affordable as I expected. The tourist attractions and historic sites were free, which was nice, but they didn’t really stand out. For 9 days, we spent around £2000, and it just didn’t feel worth it. I’ve never felt this unimpressed by a city before.
Posted: April 11, 2025Birmingham is big city a bit chaotic but very well connected by public transport. The Victoria square and the library are great places to spend the afternoon. Birmingham is multicultural so you cam also find great food from all around the world

I studied in birmingham. School activities are quite nice as in sports and so on. I lived in a student area which mostly felt safe. Weather is always grey so far but hoping for better. Everything is fairly expensive

Birmingham can be dangerous in some areas at night but okay in the city centre during the day if your exploring/shopping, it gets very busy so I would say stay alert, watch where your going and don't walk with your phone out when walking to avoid it being stolen. Overall it's a nice place to explore and check out the shops.

Uber home after 21:00 if you can. Always let someone know your whereabouts after 21:00. Remember to be vigilant and turn around to watch where you’re going. Trust your gut. I have never been robbed or followed back but I’d still be vigilant and wise about timing that I’m in and out of the house.
Posted: August 20, 2025I’ve been living in Birmingham for 5 years and the overall safety is moderate. It depends more on which area you’re living and which club or pub you go in the night. Walking alone in some areas could make you feel a little bit daunting for how isolated and not well-maintained they are, especially close to some bridges or walk paths above or under some main roads

3 words - gutsy, esoteric, forthright As you can see, I seek to be minimal and intentional these days in how I explain myself on the cyberspace. But don’t let that stop you from asking me questions! Love me a good convo with honest questions and good humour. I also try my best these days to not take life too seriously.

Hey - I'm born in UK & have lived here all my life! I've always wanted to tour the world in particular Europe & India but need someone local to show me around. Love exploring new places, sightseeing, lots of walking & a little bit of beach would be heaven! From my 'planned trips' section, you can see I'm clearly almost up for going anywhere! 😂 Just need a good lady tour guide to lead the way 😊 So.... feel free to get in touch!
