However, it is always advisable to take common-sense precautions, such as not walking alone in isolated areas late at night. Keep in mind that some parts of the island can be desolate and it's often very dark due to lack of street lighting. Therefore, carrying a flashlight and phone for emergency situations is recommended.

Though it is a remote location, the areas where buses and trains travel are highly monitored and there's usually a strong presence of local populace and fellow travelers. It is recommended to mind personal belongings and be aware of the surroundings, like any other place you visit. However, the schedules can be infrequent due to the island's rural nature, so planning ahead is crucial.

Street harassment: Very low

The Isle of Skye is renowned for its sense of respect, tranquility, and safety. Street harassment is virtually unheard of in this area, as locals are typically friendly, courteous, and welcoming to all visitors. As with anywhere, it's always important to remain aware of your surroundings, but overall you can expect a hassle-free and secure experience.

Petty crimes:Very low

The risk of experiencing petty crimes in the Isle of Skye is relatively low. As a generally peaceful and safe destination, encounters with theft, pickpocketing or similar misdemeanors are quite rare. However, it is always considered wise to practice the same standard measures of precaution as you would in any other destination, such as not leaving possessions unattended and being aware of your surroundings.
