The city centre feels very safe to be around, even when it’s dark, as long as you stay in busy areas. There are lots of druggies walking around at night, and many homeless people during the day but they don’t often make you feel unsafe. The public transport feels mostly safe, but the later it is the more dodgy it feels. I often travel around Birmingham at night and have never had anything stolen from me or been touched by a stranger.

Birmingham is a safe place to travel even of your a sole traveller I'd always recommend normal caution and to remain vigilant of course but nothing of real concern There are certain areas that have higher crime rates but these areas can easily be avoided

Posted: June 12, 2024It isn’t the most safe but fairly safe. Easy to get Uber. Lots of residential areas. Just avoid some places after dark It isn’t the most safe but fairly safe. Easy to get Uber. Lots of residential areas. Just avoid some places after dark
Posted: June 5, 2024A really busy city. Lots of homeless people, some anti social behaviour. But generally fine, just exercise self awareness and common sense. Women generally respected and treated with dignity and courtesy.
Posted: April 10, 2024There is a lot of crime but mainly seems to be from contained within that type of lifestyle. There have been peoples houses broken into when I live here and cars broken into and stolen unfortunately, at the moment it seems to have lessened
Posted: March 9, 2024Birmingham is an overall safe city however like every other city you always need to be aware and wary of your safety. So at night try to walk in well lit roads and busy areas such as along shops and other buildings with lights. Tell friends or other people you know where you are and share your locations etc just as a precautionary.

Birmingham is big city a bit chaotic but very well connected by public transport. The Victoria square and the library are great places to spend the afternoon. Birmingham is multicultural so you cam also find great food from all around the world

I studied in birmingham. School activities are quite nice as in sports and so on. I lived in a student area which mostly felt safe. Weather is always grey so far but hoping for better. Everything is fairly expensive
