Edinburgh is a very safe city for solo travel. The public transportation system is easy to navigate. There are so many castles and estates to explore. Don’t miss the highland cows. I highly recommend.

Did a study abroad trip to Oxford when in college. It was a great first experience traveling without family and doing it with a group but still solo in a way. My friends enjoyed Cafe Tarifa as a hot spot to visit. This was a long time ago so not sure if there still there. Try your hand at punting in the river for a fun activity.
Posted: May 15, 2026Such a lovely medieval city with lots of good stores and restaurants/tearooms/pubs, beautiful nature and nice attractions! The people are really friendly, I made lots of local friends during my stay. Totally worth the travel

Edinburgh is beautiful and full of tourists, I didn’t see any crime or have anything negative happen to me! There were plenty of things to do at ranging prices, I fully recommend a tour to Lochness and climbing the castle

Croydon is not “dangerous everywhere” It is rougher than many outer London suburbs Some parts are perfectly normal middle-class residential areas The town centre and certain estates can feel sketchy, especially late at night

Very safe, but still a city so important to keep reasonable caution. Don’t walk down unlit streets, stay on main roads. Be cautious of men, especially late at night. Keep bags on you, don’t leave phones& purses lying out.
Posted: May 19, 2026Pretty safe but do be aware as a girl walking alone at night! Be careful of your surroundings always and try not to walk alone at night through dark alleys. Also the leys area by henry box and the church can be quite sketchy at night and also the alley from there towards maccies

I feel safe walking home at night. You would see the local homeless person asking for change, but they’ve always been polite when you say you don’t have change to give them. Literally says “ok mate, no worries have a good night”…. That safe.

I'm in the final year of my undergraduate degree, living in Birmingham England. Growing up abroad has instilled a love for travel and adventure in me, and I make a point to fit it in wherever and whenever I can. I love EVERYTHING, I'm not joking. I've found the joy and excitement in everything I've tried. My main hobbies at the moment include pole dancing, and volunteering at a youth organization as a marine cadet instructor.

I'm originally from Sydney, Australia but currently living in London, UK. I love music, good food (not necessarily fine dining!), art and architecture. I could wander around stationery stores for ages. I like to have a coffee and just people watch. Doing the touristy highlights is fine, but it's always best to see how the locals live and play! I'm practicing sketching so if the weather's nice, I'd love to have a sketch buddy! I can speak conversational Cantonese and Japanese, and some Mandarin! 🇭🇰🇯🇵🇨🇳 I'm learning Spanish verrrrry slowly! And of course, English is my native language. Hope to cross paths on our travels soon!
