Glasgow has a wonderful cathedral. Never seen something more beautiful. You definitely need to visit . As I know they have choir singing in the evening Food is terrible but that’s typical for the uk

I took the ferry from Belfast to Glasgow for a day trip! It was a very nice journey - had a lot of things to do and enjoy on the ferry itself! It was really good to see all the beautiful architecture in Glasgow. The steep roads and nice big parks were all at a walking distance from the City Centre! The people were also really kind and jolly in the streets!

I was born in Glasgow and have lived here my whole life. I have always felt safe and still do. The Southside of Glasgow and the West End are a beautiful blend of diverse cultures, and artists who call it home. However, I would air some caution as in recent months anti immigration sentiments have spilt over. This may affect anyone who "looks different" Even though I would not say this is happening regularly, I do want to mention it as the political landscape across the UK is normalising far-right views, which has permitted a small minority to be xenophobic. For the most part, Glasgow is the friendliest city and people here love to chat. You will find people happy and willing to assist a stranger. Knowing the full picture makes it easy for travellers to plan. Glasgow truly is beautiful.
Posted: November 17, 2025I am a single girl in her 20s and I have felt safe 90% of the time. Of course that 10% is when you’re in rougher areas or it’s late at night. But for the most part I feel incredibly safe. Of course there is crime like any city but you just have to be careful

Glasgow is one of the friendliest cities in the whole world :) I never feel unsafe walking alone/at night. Most of the crimes in Glasgow are due to gangs/football, so if you're not involved in that you'll be fine. There are some areas that should be avoided like Easterhouse and Possilpark. The nicest areas are the West End and Shawlands.
Posted: October 1, 2025Very friendly and helpful city and overall feel very safe. City centre is absolutely fine to walk alone at night but maybe still perhaps exercise caution in less crowded bits closer to outskirts or parks etc.

Hi there, my name is Julia! I'm 18 years old, I'm Polish but have lived in Glasgow my whole life and would love to show any girls around for your trip and I could even take you for a days trip to another city in Scotland if you wish! Unfortunately, I cannot host as I don't own my own flat but can absolutely guide you during your stay 🙃 I would love to make some friends once I start travelling on my own a bit more! I study French so if any French gals would be open for a weekend or so let me know! :)
