I have had 2 bikes stolen from me in the past year but other than that it is a pretty safe city. City centre is lively and busy even during the nights.Be cautious as always and nothing is likely to happen.
Posted: August 29, 2025I've travelled to and lived in many countries and London is one of the safest places I've been. I have never personally experienced crime here and only have a few friends who have experienced anything negative, so the numbers are pretty typical for living in a big/world city.
Posted: August 27, 2025Most common threat is robbery and phone snatching. That being said there are certain areas one should avoid to walk through alone at night. Good awareness of surroundings and common sense go a long way for staying safe in less lively areas at night.
Posted: August 27, 2025Hertfordshire is a safe place but in certain areas it can appear dangerous. There are loads of shops and cool events, as well as so much nature around.Have your wits about you and don’t go along with strangers even if they insist.
Posted: August 26, 2025Ashtead is a small village and very safe. There is a lot of families living here since we have schools nearby. A lot of people in the village know each other so it feels like there is a sense of community. As a woman living here I have never felt unsafe here.

I love London, and I’ve been there multiple times, both alone and with my family. I was 15 when I was in London alone for the first time. I stayed with some family, but I was mostly out alone. I feel safe walking around and haven’t had any uncomfortable experiences ‘yet’. I have mostly stayed around Pimlico, Knightsbridge or in Mayfair, love them all and feel safe. The people are relatively nice and open. The food is good and you can find all kind of foods and drinks, the prices are maybe a bit pricey though.
