Overall London is fairly safe. As with any metropolitan city, keep your wits about you and trust your instincts. Some areas can be less safe than others and usually a quick Google search can alert you to any dangers to watch out for and things like crime rates etc.

I have always felt decently safe in Glasgow. Nothing criminal has ever happened to me in the city. There are a lot of drunk people but that tends to happen more at nighttime. I walk around on my own fairly often.
Posted: April 17, 2025I find it to be fairly safe. The only crime I really see is people getting their phone snatched but besides that I feel very safe walking alone at night. Public transport is also very safe. My friends and I have never had issues with sexual harassment

Question is somewhat flawed- it really depends on WHERE you are in the UK. I'll say exactly the same about ALL the Countries I've visited. I've felt safer as solo female in Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Manchester, Newcastle, Durham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee. Less so in London, Birmingham & Bradford
Posted: April 17, 2025There are lots of students so it's fairly safe and peaceful. Lots of people are on the street in city centre. Lots of stores leave their lights on at night and it's easy to access transportation. Uber is available as well
Posted: April 16, 2025Well, there's no place in the world that is 100% safe. So always take precautions, make sure you're confident in travelling to certain destinations. I would say make sure that someone knows where you're going, even if it's posting on an insta story or smthg make sure you've left tracks.
Posted: April 13, 2025In Wivenhoe everyone knows each other. It is a very friendly community and when something happens(such as a cat gets lost) everyone is getting involved. Crimes are extremely rare, especially the ones involving violence or sexual harassment.
Posted: April 11, 2025Pretty average place but overall safe and a comfortable place for women alone. After dark i do get nervous but that is a personal feeling its always been fine here. A really nice castle walk and shopping centre is thr recomended go to for tourists.
Posted: April 11, 2025London is known for mugging, especially East London. My phone was stolen in the first month of me moving to London. But ofcourse, each city comes with its own challenges. Its a lovely city, but you just have to be careful
Posted: April 10, 2025It’s moderately safe if you stay away from the high crime areas like Westminster, late at night. My street is safe but the walk there is a bit dodgy so I make sure I’m home before midnight. Which is just a good rule of thumb in general. Just be aware of where your phone is while walking and on the tube/bus. Make sure your purse is closed, etc. Keep an airbud out while connecting through the tube or walking outside after sunset, no matter the time.

I felt very safe at day and at night. I recommend to eat Fish & Chips and Full English Breakfast. Both is very good. London is 7/10 expensive. I stayed at a hotel in paddington and it was very pretty.
Posted: April 18, 2025Experienced: February, 2025London is a super fun city! This was my first solo travelling experience and I would really recommend this city if u are thinking of a place where to go alone for the first time. My advice is: choose a hotel/hostel in the center (I stayed at Wombat’s city hostel and it was super cute), use the bus (much cheaper and easier to understand) to get around, don’t go at night in places u haven’t visited during the day

Hiiii, I’m Nyah. I am a bookworm and love to travel. I am 18 and a first year law student at university. I love to write and do sports. I love going on walks with my headphones - especially to aesthetic places. Like mountains and forest areas. I have a canon camera and love to photograph absolutely everything haha.

New here! I am a 32 year old trilingual who lives in the UK (Kettering-Burton Latimer). I've been living here for about two years now and I'm a queer from İzmir. I'm mainly looking for meetups or advice for places in the UK. I'd love to meet someone with similar interests and have a chat over dinner or lunch or a drink :) The town I currently live in isn't the most touristy place, but if you ever happen to pass Burton Latimer, we can meet up and have a chat! I like walking through the cemetery and into the wind turbine farm after that. And there is a beautiful pub nearby for some food and drinks. I like traveling solo. I went to Nottingham already to see the city of caves and I have more adventures that I planned for UK!
