I feel very safe in the city. During the day you can go to all areas of interest and it’s perfectly fine. It’s a city that’s very calm and quiet at night, especially along the fjord. But people generally mind their business. Just avoid the area called Garden, especially at night

I‘ve been living in Kiel for my whole life and always felt really safe. Would recommend crowded areas by nighttime this always helps to feel protected. There are also police officers by the central station so whenever you feel uncomfortable waiting for public transportation you can talk to them.

It really depends on the area you’re in. Areas you shouldn’t travel to alone as a woman especially in the dark are: Mettenhof and Gaarden. Other than that I’d say it’s the same to most German cities.

I would say Kiel is a safe City over all. The police and other people are friendly and happy to help you, from what I experienced! At night I would avoid to hang out near the train station since there are some homeless people and drug addicts living there. The public transport is pretty safe but I would still stay aware of you surroundings.

About me

Heyy! My name is Lea, I'm 26 years old and currently living in Kiel. I love to travel and to form deep connections and hopefully long-lasting friendships with beautiful souls from all across the world. I'm super curious and love to explore new things. I enjoy being outdoors, swimming and hiking as well as bouldering, yoga etc. I've been doing aerial silks for a while now and started getting into calisthenics as well. Besides that I'm trying to improve my photography and drawing skills. I love to make little short movies for myself capturing my emotions and perspective on what I see while I'm travelling. I also do embroidery. Love music, theatre (acting myself and watching plays), music and playing drums. I would say I'm an energetic, loving and very empathic person with a lot of ideas, a good listener who loves to inspire and be inspired. Let's share some delicious vegan food, talk about your craziest travel experiences, show each other our favorite musicians, laugh about silly jokes and talk about life, happiness and everything inbetween. I value honesty, authenticity and kindness. Let's just have a great time together. I'm looking forward to meeting you!🩵🌈
