This City is overall very safe. There are many young students and it is busy considering the city is relatively small. But like in any other city I would be carefull and probably avoid to be alone in the dark. Have a pleasant stay here:)

I wouldn't describe Kiel as a dangerous city. For it's size it's level of danger is moderate. There are incidents happening just like in every other city. The people are very friendly and always helpful. That's why I'm always feeling safe no matter if day or night. Also we have a strong police presence.
