I went alone for a day in Bamberg at the end of january 2025. Bamberg is a very cute city in south east germany. There can we find nice architecture and also interesting museums. I fully recommend the diocese museum which displays very beautiful and rare textiles. Then you should of course visit the main cathedral even though it remains more good looking from the inside (in my opinion) Something great about Bamberg is that you can walk fast out of the city and go for a little hike to climb to the Altenburg. There the view is super and the mood very cute and chill. You’ll find a lot of cute cafes and creators shops. The streets are completely enjoyable and colourful. Be careful in the summer, there are a lot of tourists

I lived in Bamberg, Bavaria for 3 months. It is the small town near Nurnberg, with lots of historical buildings. Bamberg is one of several towns which had survived from burning in the second World War, so almost every historical building is built in the12-13th centuries. This town is known for smoked beer which is made only here as a unique one, so the main reason of visit this place is to taste smoked beer 🍺 Town is located on the banks of the river so there are lots of beautiful views 🌸

Bamberg is generally very safe sity, especially for solo female travelers. One can walk on the streets at anytime (24/7)! Still, basic precautions at night are always a good idea, depending upon the area!
Posted: June 12, 2025During the day, I always feel safe. Even in areas that are not so popular. People are very open. In the evening, Sandstraße is very very crowded, especially with people who have been drinking. Walking through feels like sensory overload, but nothing happens. However, alone at night, I would be cautious, for example towards the train station. But there are always people in the city, which makes you feel safe.
Posted: February 9, 2025I don't think it's really different then in other cities in Germany. Yes you gonna expirence sexual assault and men being assholes but overall I think it's safe as long as you don't walk alone in dangerous, dark streets... The city is very beautiful and the most people there are very nice...

I lived in Bamberg for 3 months and this is the one of the most safest towns I’ve ever lived . I often walked at midnight but never had feeling of being offended.

I enjoy listening to stories and hearing people share their experiences. Seeing a picturesque sight with someone else makes it a beautiful moment. Architecture, history, and music make our world a vibrant place. Let's meet for a cup of tea or coffee! I do not use social media. (我除了英语德语以外,还会说一点普通话).

Hi, I'm Julia, a masters student in heritage conservation, living currently in Bamberg (Germany). As a lover of architecture, arts and all forms of cultural heritage, I love to travel around and get to know locals, who are open to share their way of living, their local advises and experiences. Inversely, I would like to share my knowledge about my city and the region with travelers and to have inspirational meetings. I would describe myself as an open-minded, pleasent and tidy guest able to adapt to different circumstances and to communicate openly. I am fluent in English, German and French and my Spanish skills are intermediate. I'm into music, salsa, contemorary dance, hiking and animals. So pets are very welcome : ) I'm really looking forward to become part of the community and to get to know each other soon <3
