It’s a good city, but it’s very quiet at night. Only on Saturdays is it lively, and you can see different types of people. It’s not a big city, but it’s nice and the people are friendly. However, it’s not very clean.
Posted: August 26, 2025Experienced: August, 2025Leipzig is a lovely city, with a culture and alternative people. If you visit Leipzig i can recommend the Kulki and the Cossi - two beautiful lakes! Also don’t miss the food hotspots like Karl-Heine or Karl-Liebknecht Street! :)

Good overall, just stayed there some hours honestly. Not so good ice cream but great people. Also beautiful buildings and would definitely recommend visiting the mall on the middle of the city, it has many MANY internationl shop's. Just loved it!

I was in Leipzig to learn German. I didn’t work as hard as I needed to, but I recommend Leipzig. It’s pretty, calm, has awesome food, and has a lovely opera house. I would like to go back to Germany.

I feel safe walking through Leipzig, even at night. The only problem is the huge park, which is not illuminated at night, but you can avoid it. There are football games at most of the weekends and the fans can be quite disagreeable, so maybe stay away from them and the stadium.
Posted: November 28, 2025I live here my whole life and luckily didn't have to make any really bad experiences yet. Of course there are some rude people everywhere, but not that I have been threatened. Maybe little crimes, such as robbing or vandalism do happen, but I personally wasn't involved

I think Leipzig is overall very safe. The only place I would avoid is the main station at night, but other than that it mostly feels very safe here. You should be able to travel without any worries here.

I feel very safe in my city. I guess there are weirdos everywhere, but especially in the more alternative parts of Leipzig you will always have friendly people open to help when needed. Also at most clubs, there is an awareness team ready to react whenever you feel unsafe or see someone getting harassed etc.
Posted: October 16, 2025I have lived in Leipzig for more than 5 years and I have always felt super safe in the city. I had no problem using public transport at night on my own or walking around the city. Certainly, there’s areas one should probably avoid but that’s advisable in every city

hey fellow travel girls :) I am always happy to help, open minded (feminist, bi/queer, slightly spiritual), creative (studying architecture), curious, bold (Aries 🤷🏽♀️) and according to my therapist, I’m hyper-sensitive (overthinking, oversharing, overfeeling, … all the overs?) let‘s say I am a little bit of everything - always somewhere between caring too little and too much 🙃 (as we all are, I guess) I was born and raised in Leipzig and still live here - so if you need any insider tips, I‘m your girl :) I’m not into clubbing that much since I get overstimulated easily so I probably won’t have any good recs for that (I could ask my friends for that though). but I’m always down for a drink at a bar, an ice cream in the park or a picnic at the lake. after going around the world solo once and traveling to about 30 countries I‘d say I‘m able to help with any of that as well :) I am the happiest with salty hair, a tan, the sound of the ocean nearby, a mask and fins or a good book and of course with friendly, loving and inspiring people or sweet animals around 🤙🏼 instagram: @lena_noack
