I felt safe, but most of the food was greek or Schnitzel there was almost no other kind of meat, it was really cold even if it was august and there was not much to do, just going to the mall and stuff like that, I did like an asian place that had "red curry rice" in the hannover train station mall, it was the best food I tried there, and after 2 years, I still miss it
Posted: December 30, 2024Experienced: July, 2022I think Hannover is a great city to travel. It’s big and modern, which attracts me a lot. I’ve definitely had a great time there. And also I love the buildings there. It’s not single but different kinds of. I love this Variety. It’s like the people there, from different countries and have different views.

You don't have to be afraid as long as you generally avoid dangerous areas (Steintor, Hauptbahnhof, Nordstadt, etc.) after dark. Nevertheless, caution is advised, as friends of mine have been harassed or mugged in these areas.

I feel secure but we shouldn't trust anybody anywhere. I already took Subway at 2am and that was fine. There were some drunk people but also some that comes home after a trip (late train) so I would feel insecure if there was only drunk people but they are not.
Posted: August 12, 2025Hanover is a very safe German mid-size city (around 600.000 inhabitants). The overall crime rate is not very different from the low German medium. I do know of some women who are worried about being alone at night, but the public transport system is great and will safely get you almost everywhere even at night. There is a risk of experiencing cataloging or verbal harassment. I personally don't like the are around the central station but it's always highly trafficked and I never felt unsafe. I would recommend Hanover for female solo travelers.
Posted: August 10, 2025If you know the city of Hannover, it is pretty safe. However, there are some spots you should avoid, especially at night if you are traveling alone — or at least stay alert. For example, the Steintor area and the area behind the main train station. Sadly, being catcalled by men is still a reality. Still, Hannover has some beautiful spots, and overall, it’s pretty safe to walk around alone.

Hi there! When I'm at my work , you can often find me exploring nature trails with my camera in hand, capturing the beauty of the outdoors one snapshot at a time. I find inspiration in the little details of life, from the way sunlight filters through leaves to the laughter of children playing in the park. As a lifelong learner, I'm constantly seeking out new experiences and perspectives to expand my horizons. Whether i doing some crazy fun adrenalin activitys, learning a new language, or diving into a non-fiction book about a topic I've never explored before, I thrive on the excitement of discovery. Above all, I believe in the power of kindness and empathy to make the world a better place. Whether it's lending a listening ear to a friend in need or volunteering at a local shelter, I strive to make a positive impact in both big and small ways. That's just a little glimpse into who I am. I'm excited to connect with you and learn more about your own story!
