the city center is pretty cool. it’s my hometown but i wouldn’t choose to live there. but for a small vacation it’s pretty cool. it’s not too big, not to small. you can do many cool things. it’s pretty easy to find a good restaurant

Is Chemnitz safe for women?

Safety index

3.1 /5

Based on 8 local experiences

Crime index

1.9 /5

I would say that in the city center there are a quite the couple of homeless men and some quesionable dudes and could be some scums, but overall there are a lot of police cars so they don’t dare to do anything bad. In another areas, except train station is also safe,at the train station you need to be more cautious. Overall the city is pretty quiet and not hustling or bustling,so it’s pretty safe here.

I've been living here since a while (1yr and few months). Been travelling in the night too sometimes, alone. Nothing bad thank God, has happened to me till now in the streets or so. Although we should be aware and take good care of ourselves regarless. I believe I can say, Chemnitz is okay safe for the girls.
