Bremen 2025: great beer and coffee, friendly climbing gym, beautiful architecture and perfect routes for running. Warm days, relaxed pace, cosy cafés and an easy city to enjoy actively outside Summer.
Posted: February 18, 2026Experienced: February, 2025I felt safe, Bremen has a lot of horse farms to offer, you can learn to ride and after lessons swim in the river that flows through the whole of Bremen, I think it's a great location for solo travel because there are many green pastures and warm people, you can make friends by going outside where people do different kind of sports, I recommend Wasserhorst in Bremen, was best.

all in all its safe. Its just suppose to be the most dangerous city in germany but I have never really felt unsafe. Its great to go out at night every part of the city but the „viertel“ is dead. Maybe dont hang out at the central station at night.
Posted: May 2, 2026Very safe during the day, never had any issues or felt unsafe. The train station area feels a bit unsafe at night, with a lot of drug users around. I have heard of women especially being harassed at night. But I personally never had any major problems.

It's pretty moderate, like every big city, but at friday and Saturday night there is an awareness team in the viertel, so that's pretty good, but I also experienced cat calling and other similar things. So it is not completely safe but it has some structures that help it to get better.

Over the day it is pretty safe! but you shouldn’t leave your belongings out of your eyes. If you are a girl: Don’t go home alone at night! Especially not in Bremen Neustadt or around the train station
Posted: March 15, 2026Based on reports from women living in Bremen, we created a safety map highlighting areas where they feel unsafe during the day or at night.

I’m an international student. I recently graduated. I was doing a master’s in Astrophysics. I am currently living in Germany and applying to PhDs. I love to travel and explore. My travelling in general is very “exploring new cultures and cuisines” centric. And what better way to understand different cultures other than meeting new people!! 😄
