Is Aachen Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I visited for an exhibition and to see the cathedral which is very ancient. Aachen is a beautiful town and very safe. I stayed centrally and it was an easy walk frim the station, and very easy to get everywhere on foot.

Compared to other german cities Aachen is quite safe. All cities have a party, red light, entertainment area that you should only go to when you know what you are doing. There are people who are drunk and on dope. And they sometimes do things that are not well thought off. If you respect that you are fine. I do recommend not go out at night so much, especially as a woman, but that goes for every city I fear.

It’s usually really safe here. I’ve been living in Aachen for five years and go everywhere on my own, even at night. But there are a few areas where you feel a little uneasy. There are a relatively large number of drug addicts in Aachen. Usually, they’re only a danger to themselves, but things can get unpleasant when they ask for money, don’t get any, and start getting loud. Try to avoid the “Kaiserplatz” at night. Aachen is a really nice city and absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to crimes and the city center area is also really nice I would recommend going for coffee and a walk trough the city 🌆

Aachen is small and university-centered small city, thus very quiet and safe. Although there are few areas to be cautious during night, it is ususlly safe to walk around alone even in the dark. Only be beware near Bushof and Rothe-Erde during night.

at the hbf area there might be drunk people but they are usually harmless. There are also night busses on the weekends till 2am Most crowded street is ponttor and there are always students on the streets, its a young city bushof is slightly less safe other than that its safe enough to come home alone after midnight as a woman

Aachen is a city at the border of Belgium and The Netherlands. I personally never had any issues even though I like going out late. The only concern is that there’re a lot of homeless people and drug addicted people on the streets. It depends on where you go.
