Solo travel experience

I visited for an exhibition and to see the cathedral which is very ancient. Aachen is a beautiful town and very safe. I stayed centrally and it was an easy walk frim the station, and very easy to get everywhere on foot.

Is Aachen safe for women to live?

It’s a little town with many students from all over the world. Since our universities offer fields of study in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering, there are many men here. These fields tend to be predominantly male. This is especially noticeable at parties, where the gender ratio is skewed. However, Aachen is safe and rather peaceful. There is the eastern quarter, which should be avoided at night. Otherwise, I go everywhere alone at night and in the dark. Of course, you occasionally encounter strange men, but that's probably the case everywhere. Otherwise, I feel very safe. I've never had the thought of being robbed here.
