Is Lille Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Lille is generally a safe place for not only solo female travelers, but all travelers. Its streets are regularly patrolled and serious crime is relatively low. However, as with any city around the world, it is always wise to exercise basic caution such as avoiding secluded areas at night and being mindful of your belongings to prevent pickpocketing.

If you are coming to Lille I would love to recommend you to stay in JOSH hotel because it's such a beautiful and unique hotel! Try Portugal pastry (Dona Bica) the store name! The taste is amazing 😋 and try matcha from Aju coffeeshop!

Solo travel

You can go to Lille from Paris by taking a bus or a train. I took a 3h bus and was really quick. One you get there you can walk around and see all main attractions that are closed to the city center. Food is not expensive. You should try les moulles with french fries and the go to have some dessert in a bakery store but not the gouffre cause it's really thing and small that's not worth the price. To finish you can go to the Citadelle a nice park to have some rest and a drink. I would recommend...

I want to talk about my experience in Lille because it was the first time I was hosted by a girl I had met online. I was with my roommate and our host let us stay for two nights in her place, she was such a lovely person to talk to and we could trust each other completely! I am very grateful for this experience and I hope I can do it again in the future. Lille is a beautiful city with cool architecture and some museums that we really enjoyed. The people are really nice too. I recommend it!

It is kind of safe during the day, but you still have to be careful but at night there are a lot of drunk people, especially in the center and in Roubaix. Just try to stay with people to avoid non-crowded areas.

So far, it seems safe to me. I haven't had any problems; I think the only thing you have to be careful about is making sure your bike is locked up properly, because they do get stolen. Maybe Wazemmes isn't that safe late at night, but that's just a guess.

At night it can be dangerous as a women, men could talk to you and force it. The safest place are usually « vieux Lille » and « Lille centre » during the day, but at night there’s stealers and drunk people

Day time is pretty safe. My home is 30 mins away from the main station and when i fame back from another city around 3 4 am it feels a bit awkward but not exactly unsafe. There are some drunk people but I had no direct experience with them they just passed by me.
