I loved Bordeaux, we stayed at Eklo Hotel as a sustainable option and we really had a good time there. Also the breakfast was amazing! It is located next to the botanic park and Darwin Ecosystem, an alternative area in the city. We got there in public transport and the station is a bit far from the most interesting areas, so if you have a lot of things, I recommend taking a taxi from there. We were there for 5 days, so we took advantage of the Bordeaux City Card 72h that included most of the...

Bordeaux is safe during the daytime, but you have to be careful at night, especially in the old town. I was followed by four men to the station after sunset, which was just a short walk to the station.

Gorgeous city, like Paris but less stressful. Much more laid back city. Highly recommend where we stayed: Maison la Course, small boutique hotel with daily breakfast included (served on porcelain, crystal & silver), massages in house, lovely all female staff at the time we were there. To see: Monuments & Neighborhoods to See: Palais Gallien: Ruined 3rd century amphitheater from Roman city Burdigala Place de la Victoire: walk up Rue Sainte-Catherine, (detour east to le Musée d'Aquitaine,...

Pretty much safe city for women, I feel safe in my neighborhood even at night so it’s ok. The weirdest people that are met are mostly drunk or homeless men that can shout something at you, but they do nothing. They are mostly close to the train station, but you can even meet them in the center where there are a lot of people
Posted: April 11, 2026Overall bordeaux is pretty safe. After midnight avoid certain neighborhoods (around les quinconces , quartier saint-michel, cour de la marne, capucins) Trust your instincts. Avoid dark empty streets. Other than these areas , the city is pretty safe in my opinion.

Be careful on the docks, near porte de Bourgogne and being on streets alone. Most of the time you'll be fine, but strange people wandering on the streets can be intimidating, or insulting if you don't have any change to spare. But as long as you're polite and stay away from them as much as you can, many people are actually lovely! This is from my own experience living there, and apart from an insult here and there because I didn't have any change, I was lucky to have nothing happen to me. And...

I've lived in this city for about two years now and it's alright, it mostly depends on the neighborhoods (avoid Victoire, Gare saint Jean at night) but all in all it's rather okay and safe but I'd suggest to pay attention to your surroundings just in case

Hi, my name is Leyna, I'm French, I love travelling and I'm new to solo trips. I like to disconnect whether in a new city to visit or with nature. I never say no to new encounters, I am very sociable and jovial. I love learning languages, reading and writing. And if you have a crisp story about mythology, I'm all ears :)

Salut, Coucou, Hello, as you wish, I love them all ☺️ I'm Mathilde, Mathou for my close ones. I live in Bordeaux, where I work as a psychologist with people who live with disabilities. I love cinema (without "male gaze"), walking, taking photos, watching videos from politic specialists, activists, talking about my job, learning, watching asmr videos, speaking english, music, writing, singing, hearing people talking about their passions, swimming, playing tennis, make people laugh, postcards, magnets and coasters.... And roller coasters. I've got anxiety but I work on it, the few first minutes being inside a group of unknown people are difficult for me but I love it ! I'm vegetarian, which means I only eat grass. I don't have à perfect english but I would love to improve it with you, in Bordeaux (my beloved city) or anywhere else ! I can't wait to travel and meet people from other horizons ☺️ 👋
