How safe is Glasgow?

Some parts of the city feel safe to walk alone at night and during the day. I'd avoid areas around central station if possible, especially at night. The west end of the city is generally safe although some green spaces have poor lighting so would avoid after dark. Generally feel safe but take the usual precautions when travelling around alone.

As a girl I am always wary of walking around anywhere myself once it’s dark, but I feel totally safe walking about Glasgow during the day myself, and would walk about myself at night if I stuck to lit and busy streets! People in Glasgow are generally very friendly and always happy to help if you need it!

I would consider Glasgow to be a safe city to visit and live. “People make Glasgow” is the slogan, people are very friendly to visitors and the public transport runs late. I would always be careful when walking around in the dark as you never know who is around but in general there is not much violence here

Glasgow is very very safe. As a woman i have never been bothered and could stay out even on cold winters days. The weather is the only challenge here and always be prepared to face rain storms or high speed winds!

I took the ferry from Belfast to Glasgow for a day trip! It was a very nice journey - had a lot of things to do and enjoy on the ferry itself! It was really good to see all the beautiful architecture in Glasgow. The steep roads and nice big parks were all at a walking distance from the City Centre! The people were also really kind and jolly in the streets!
