How safe is Glasgow?

Glasgow has many weird and wonderful people. The streets at night, especially the weekend, can be a big wild, with many drunk people roaming around. No one will cause trouble with you, as long as you don't start it. It can be roudy and loud, bug generally the people of Glasgow look out for eachother

I have always felt decently safe in Glasgow. Nothing criminal has ever happened to me in the city. There are a lot of drunk people but that tends to happen more at nighttime. I walk around on my own fairly often.

Glasgow is very safe, in my opinion. There’s a bit of this or that, but I’ve walked home at night many times & felt safe. As always, take normal precautions but I’ve rarely felt threatened here. One thing to note though is that public transportation does shut pretty early, so if you’re in the pub past 11:45 on weekdays, there’s a likelihood of having to walk if you can’t afford a taxi.

Glasgow extremely friendly city and is full of culture and arts with a wonderful queer community. But like any city there are all types of people and it has a history of violence. Overall I feel safe and welcomed living here but like any women I am cautious and stay alert when I walk alone at night.

There is a big drinking culture in Scotland - especially in Glasgow - most of the time I only feel threatened by drunks and junkies, other than that the city is okay. Just try stay alert at night when a lot of people are drinking.

Glasgow can have a bad reputation but it is a safe place to travel if you stay in the most popular areas. The local people are some of the friendliest in the world and willing to help anyone. Recommend

Glasgow is a fairly safe city, with friendly locals who are always willing to help people in need. It's quite rare to see violence and when it does happen it tends to be between people that know each other, so as a tourist it's very safe.

Pretty safe, never had any issues all my life living here. However you do need to be careful in certain impoverished areas as there obviously tends to be more crime. I live in the southside and once again never had any issues besides the odd break in to a house or robbery. Obviously don’t make eye contact with the crazies or crackheads. Never had an issue in city centre and I’ve been out until 2/3am. As a woman, never been sexually harassed or threatened in that sense. However I know other people may have had different experiences.

The city is very safe in daylight. During weekdays very late at night the mood changes in city centre, so I wouldn’t walk alone there as you may find issues happening. Weekends are ok, as lot of people go out partying and the streets are very busy.

Glasgow varies in terms of safety. There’s a rumour about how you shouldn’t walk around at night because of the gangsters but that’s not true. There are plenty of people walking about at night. The most safest locations would be the west end of Glasgow. The city centre can be chaotic and some part of the south and east end can be a little concerning to walk on your own but it is generally fine.
