London isn't too unsafe but you need to be cautious and very observing of your surroundings. Phone/bag snatching has increased in many areas. In the evening, it is usually okay but sometimes there are strange people around. I've been followed once, and he went away as soon as I started speaking on the phone so be cautious after a night out.
Posted: May 6, 2024Is not safe nowdays. So take care of yourself and your phones . Take care of your gadgets , as there are lots of biciclist that they will try to rip everything from you . With the buses and the trains , be careful with the homeless people and just look around you at all times . Stay aware! London is beautiful , nu now it just became like this bc of the lack of rules .
Posted: May 4, 2024Parts of London are definitely safe but there are pockets across the city that are dodgy - like all cities. I definitely feel safe during the day but there are a lot of phone muggings by men on bikes which is distressing. I’d recommend getting a wrist strap for your phone and keeping your wits about you.
Posted: April 29, 2024Just be careful - have a secure bag and be careful with using your phone out as some people can get there's snatched. Don't carry around lots of cash- card is everywhere. Nothing different to any other city safety wise
Posted: April 29, 2024Compared to New York City, I feel relatively safe here. I have never been harassed while walking alone and even walking alone at night, I never felt like I was ever in danger. Of course I stay away from rumored bad areas, but in East London, I feel safe in my Neighborhood.
Posted: April 25, 2024London is safe on the whole during the day. You have to be aware of pickpockets or people stealing phones from your hand when walking down the street. At night, I would be a lot more cautious and try to avoid walking long distances by yourself.
Posted: April 25, 2024London is a very busy city, where a lot of people spend most of their time. The weekend evenings are especially busy; it looks like the city never sleeps. You could meet a lot of strange people on public transport and the streets, but it's not really dangerous.
Posted: April 23, 2024Pretty safe! May get cat called in some areas but rare for you to be followed home or physically intimidated or attacked. Keep personal belongings close whenever youre in busy areas and do not take phones out in public/ on the street if you can avoid it. Need to use maps? Go in a shop or somewhere off the road to see else it may be snatched.
Posted: April 22, 2024London a bustling city, you mostly feel safe because we are super congested with people. Every corner there is someone and whenever o have asked for help someone will. Only issues are catcalling still very much am issue on nights out and even on busy streets the men do not care. They think they're "shooting their shot" but it can feel more annoying than intimidating. Phone snatching happens on busy roads and to men and women alike. Especially on busy roadsides with lots of bikes or moped passing.
Posted: April 19, 2024Certain areas of London are more dangerous then others for things like pick pocketing and getting your phone stolen. Thieves spot tourists and know who to target. As long as you stay aware it is mostly safe

London was our home for almost 6 months now, and what a life changing experience! My wife and I walked at night almost everyday, going trough the dark canals and we never had problems with safety. I think the rule here is mind your own business and your gonna be fine! I definitely recommend living here for a while, give a little time for the city, you definitely will feel at home after the first month. Eat at home is my number 1 rule for saving money and East London can offer the most amazing foods for a reasonable price! We'll definitely gonna miss London and I'm willing to get back whenever we can.

Safety: depends, we (me and friend L.) stayed in a rather unsafe area named Barking. It wasn’t bad but me and her decided that, IF we would revisit London, we wouldn’t go back to Barking. Things to do: we took some “tourist busses” to Stonehenge and Harr Potter Studio. It was amazing! And some sightseeing throughout the big city. Food: This was a bit harder to get some food as vegan, but not impossible! Accommodation: Ibis Hotel in Barking, do not recommend. Transport: Train or Black Cab, since they went on a lot of strikes while we were here. Most public transportation was impossible

I was in London for the second time in the winter of 2022. As expected, it was awesome. The people in London are very, very nice and open. When you think you have discovered everything, you always find new beautiful corners.
Posted: May 2, 2024i was quite disappointed with london. everything was sooo expensive and the sky was always gloomy. i loved their accents though, and the people are amazingly nice. but the place was cold and hard and attractions like big ben and london eye were slightly underwhelming to see

Hi I’m Mandy 52 yrs old based between London and Wiltshire U.K. I enjoy sightseeing, exploring, relaxing, reading, love the ocean and bodyboarding. I’m Australian-born and I’m heading to Perth for 2 months in Feb 2025 to spend time in my birth-town and get to know it. Looking for meet ups and exploring buddies. I don’t drink or smoke (used to) and my perfect day is exploring or chilling with an early dinner, reading or card games and a nice early night tucked up in bed :)

I'm a freelance UX and service designer, currently community manager for a small non-profit. I enjoy solo travel as an introvert, going at my own pace and planning my day, but sometimes miss sharing experiences and adventures with others. I tend to stay in boutique hostels with female dorms or Airbnbs. (I'm always up for sharing accommodation or rentals!) I'm a foodie (vegetarian), coffee lover, culture vulture, love urban photography and just coddiwompling around. I don't drink much (maybe socially) and am not a party person. I kind of had an existential/early mid-life crisis during the pandemic, feeling like I'm missing out on life and what if the next year brings something even worse!? So I cancelled my lease in London and went travelling. As a millennial I'm unlikely to but my first home any time soon, and 50% off my income went on rent, so in order to save up (and work part time for my mental health), I'm house and pet-sitting. My itinerary: 🇵🇹 Portugal until 15.5. 🇪🇦 Spain 18.5.-1.7. 🇧🇻 Denmark 1.7.-20.7. 🇸🇪 Sweden 20.07.-22.7. 🇬🇧 UK 29.7.-24.8. 🇭🇷 Croatia 24.8.-20.9.
