There are some nice areas (mostly central) where there’s always a lot of people around making it “safer”, however there are some areas who are not as safe but I would say still not as dangerous as to the point of getting murdered
Posted: March 18, 2025Like any major city there is risk of petty crime (phone, wallet etc) but I've never felt unsafe walking around, using public transport. Walking at night depends on the area, however touristy areas and most areas are completely fine, even at 3am!
Posted: March 15, 2025London is a lovely city to travel, so much going on here! There’s always people around, and the transport is very convenient as well! You will find so many things to do here, some beautiful cafés and park to go to as well!
Posted: March 13, 2025Unfortunately over the years London has changed for the worst. This especially applies to current high crime rates in certain areas. Please, be careful to take your phone out in central London and be mindful strangers as harassment is also on the rise.
Posted: March 8, 2025I have been living in London for three months, and I often go out alone after dark and I am not feeling unsafe at all. But I would like to notice that not all areas in London are the same and than my experience is for the center, around Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road, as well as for Stepney Green and Bethnal Green areas, where I live.
Posted: March 6, 2025London is a safe city as long as you stay with someone or a group. You need to be aware of your surroundings at all times as knife crime, pickpocketing is high. Men can be creepy and touchy when they have a chance
Posted: March 3, 2025It’s moderately safe I would say as highly dependent on where you are and what time it is. Some areas are safer than others and it’s always better to just keep to yourself and not interact with people who may pose as a danger to your safety
Posted: February 22, 2025Depends on the area. Some nights out at certain venues can attract bad crowds so are good to be with someone. I like the nightlife here so I've been out a lot, and on my own in the night. You can get stares/intimidation/mild harassment on the tube fairly often from men at those hours but never been assaulted while travelling and it feels safe and comfortable to travel from early morning to late evening. Many areas feel quite safe though.
Posted: February 21, 2025I would say the safety level is dependent on the area you’re in. My experience in london has been safe, I feel safe to go out with friends and to venture alone. The most common concern would be phone snatching in London, especially Central london, try to keep your phone away and don’t leave it out on restaurant tables as people come pretending to ask a question and slip phones under a newspaper and leave. But generally with friends or being out in the day does feel safe.

London is very safe thanks to CCTV everywhere and strict laws however it can get less safe at night times if you are drunk, don't take precautions. Petty thefts and phone snatching is very popular but not as bad as in Barcelona.

I had the opportunity to take a few trips, and I never had that feeling of security like I did in London! I also felt a sense of calm despite the crowded streets; it was pleasant and gentle to stroll through the city. Before my trip, I had prepared some free activities to do: visiting museums, walking in parks, visiting monuments, watching the Changing of the Guard.
Posted: March 17, 2025I had an amazing experience travelling to London. I met my long distance friend for the first time and made great memories. London is a very pretty city in my opinion and you’ll always find something cool to do even if you just go out spontaneously. I really enjoyed Soho and China town we met cool people there: ) generally felt safe

Hi, I’m Roop! I’m a university student in London. I’m a Portuguese national, with Indian background. I’m planning to spend my year with lots of adventures and travelling. I’m excited to use this platform to build genuine connections and safe travel! I would love to show you around in London. I’m planning to travel around in summer June-July, still exploring the opportunities and would love to have a travel buddy! (An affordable trip as a student) I’m thinking of Japan (preferably country side, to experience mountains, seaside, and summer festivals), Türkiye (just something about their culture and language draws me in, again I’m a big mountain girl, somewhere with good landscape), Bulgaria, Slovakia, south east Asia, and many more. I’m still exploring the options. Would love someone to convince me! 😭
