It depends on which area you’re in. Central areas are more prone to theft and harassment whereas other areas further out may have higher chances of aggression/mugging. Living here for 20 years, i’ve never been mugged or attacked but verbal harassment and cat-calling is common. Phone thieving rates have spiked recently so having high awareness in public is very necessary. I wouldn’t say London is as dangerous and high in crime as other big cities worldwide, like New York, though. Not very safe but definitely safer.

Personally I feel safe in this City and not much worried going around. But the experience may be different for visitors and other people. I live here, and travel alone all the time, I know that if I were to experience something terrible, there is reliable support and help.
Posted: January 17, 2025Some areas are worse than others, but in my experience there is more people with mental health problems in the streets which gives a lot more of anxiety to interact with strangers. In night clubs or things like that is kinda the same as any other nightclub you get harassed easily
Posted: January 15, 2025Where I live is on the main road, very busy… nothing here is more than a 40 minute walk, the train station is a 4 minute walk, the hospital is a 40 minute walk, the fire station is a 15 minute walk, police station is a 30/40 minute walk and they all use my road to travel so it can be noisy hearing the sirens all day and night but you do get use to it very quickly… also all supermarkets, shops, shopping malls are 5-30 minute walks… the only thing that scares me is walking alone at night which I haven’t done in months but it’s not so crazy… only thing to really worry about is people taking your phone so please only take your phone out when you really need it and hold on tight.
Posted: January 12, 2025London can be safe if you take precautions and are smart about where you find yourself, I wouldn’t walk alone at night through certain streets, but generally I don’t fear in busy areas. I’d say getting your phone snatched is the biggest concern for women, pickpockets too.
Posted: January 12, 2025I would say it’s pretty safe, especially if you’re aware of your surroundings and careful. There’s obviously come dodgy areas, but that comes with every town. Biggest thing to be aware of is people snatching phones out of hands
Posted: January 12, 2025London is safe and I haven’t run into any problems. Transportation is safe and transport links are good. Like anywhere else though it’s important to exercise common sense. London is also a lot of fun
Posted: January 9, 2025same as any big city. stay in public spaces after dark and don’t venture into low light areas. but there are always a few creeps as in most large cities. have heard some scarier stories before so always best to remain cautious after dark especially. becomes dark out quick in the winter months.
Posted: January 9, 2025I think it’s overall pretty safe, the only real complaint I have is the pickpocketing problem. It’s super annoying to have to worry all the time about my belongings. True London grip is so real honestly.
Posted: January 7, 2025Never had an issue walking home, such a busy city, always lots of people walking around - even at 4am! Never felt unsafe as a woman walking around London. Just exercise normal caution, don’t have your phone in your back pocket on the tube.

We took a 3-day trip with my friend. We stayed in the house on 3rd picture, it's named Iolanthe B&B with great host Rosie. We explored mostly the center of the city, near Tower and Buckingham Palace, but ventured out to Hampstead and Greenwich. We mainly used buses as a cheaper option for transport and we could see some part of the city from them. As for food, definitely try some od the famous markets like Seven dials Market in Soho or Borough Market near London brigde. If you want detailed itinerary of our trip, feel free to reach out 😊
Posted: January 4, 2025Experienced: August, 2023The city felt really safe around the center (exept for the pickpockets), but the suburbs where more creepy and dirty. The city is really expensive, and a lot of things I'd have liked to visit where like 25£/per person. But the British Museum is free! For transport, having an Oyster card was nice, but contacless credit card is find also. The bus is less expensive than the subway, but still pretty expensive (≈ 7£/day/person)
