I would say London like any big city has its areas I would stay clear of or be more aware in, but overall I feel quite safe, and also due to how organised and cared for the city is. I live in east London which can be a bit rough around the edges, but there are tons of young people, and as I become more familiar with my area I feel more and more comfortable and safe.

It depends on which area you choose to stay in. Usually the west and central areas of London are relatively safer. The outer suburbs may be cheaper but have higher crime rates amongst locals. Generally London is safe as long as you stay vigilant. It is extremely popular for tourists to visit so it is easy to be targeted in landmarks if it is obvious that you are a tourist. Having said that keeping aware and having your belongings safely with you at all times means you should be able to navigate safely.
Posted: May 25, 2025I generally feel safe in the area I live in but for example when coming home after a night out I would always always come home with someone else or make sure there were lots of people on the public transport I was taking
Posted: May 25, 2025It’s relatively safe in certain areas. Avoid Peckham etc but overall London is enjoyable every-time I go. I get the best food when I’m out there and people are super friendly. I love the drag shows in London.
Posted: May 19, 2025Pretty safe just keep an eye on your drink and your phone! Do NOT walk with your phone just held in your hand. Good chance someone on a motorbike will snatch it from you 👍 And be sensible - avoid sketchy looking back alleys with no street lights after dark, tell someone you trust where you’re going before meeting up with strangers etc.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been back to London, but I’m so glad I got to visit it again! For me there was a great deal of nostalgia so that makes me a little biased, but I have to say it really is such an exciting place to visit. In spring - especially if the weather decides to be helpful - the parks there are so beautiful and awe inspiring (although don’t forget to bring your allergy medicine, the pollen this time of year is everywhere). St James park is especially incredible, but then again it has always been my favourite. People might disagree with me here, but British food in London is great if you know what to look for. Apart from pretty good foreign cuisine places, there’s a lot of pubs and a decent English breakfast is incredibly popular here. For a quick snack, there’s a Pret A Manger almost on every street, and I absolutely recommend getting a Cornwall pasty at least once at the Paddington station. Although I didn’t go this time, I highly recommend visiting some of the bigger museums there - the science and the natural history and my personal favourites. In general, there’s just so many other attractions to choose from that everyone will find something to do. Travel in London is a little expensive, but overall the tube and the buses are pretty useful for getting around. Taking a train anywhere else is highly expensive though. On the other hand, I stayed in a female only room in a hostel right by Hyde park and for the cheap price it was very comfortable and a great experience overall.

Hey ladies:) I’m Ella, 25, artist and architecture student living in London. The last few years have been an incredible collection of solo travels all over, in places I found myself just staying and living at because of how much I loved them. I have lived on farms in Hawaii and Central America, more recently I came back from a few months studying Italian in Italy. And now I’ve moved to London to study, which means trips are shorter and in between the current routines. I’m an overall creative person, always looking for interesting things going on, exhibitions and performances, I love just wandering around when I travel, seeing what will happen. Would love to connect with some girlies on my next trip to Pisa.
