I think as a woman you always have to be careful- even in “safe” areas. London is generally a safe metropolitan city in most areas. There are a few areas that you want to watch your back and purse and be careful after dark.
Posted: November 12, 2024Is generally safe for female travelers, especially in central areas with good lighting and public transport. However, staying aware in crowded or nightlife areas, securing belongings, and using trusted transport are wise.

Parts that are guaranteed safe are north and north west London. Residential areas still have very beautiful pubs and other attractions and best places to explore would be Hampstead/ Highgate. Camden Town is very popular and can give one antsy feelings but everyone will look after you if you feel unsafe, pubs will most definitely be a safe place if you’re in trouble and you can pop into any of them and you’ll be supported and helped. Places in north London like Kilburn and Kensal rise are to be avoided after dark unless with someone or if you’re comfortable with seeing the odd few characters.
Posted: November 8, 2024It's pretty safe and most people do help if anything happens. Like in most major cities, there is always the risk of getting pickpocketed and there have been a couple cases of stabbings in the past few years. As long as you have common sense and somewhat of an idea of how to stay safe, you shouldn't really worry too much about that. There are some places which are more dodgy than others, so I would recommend asking a local or researching beforehand which places to not go at night. Most of central London is pretty safe and crowded, even well past midnight.

Its a big city like others. You need to carful . Walk in primary roads, avoid to go around in late night alone, call a taxi. Dont walk around with your phone in the hands, they will steal it so quickly that you wont even realise.

After 10 years in London, nothing surprises me. The street harassment, violence against women and open drug abuse is viscerally present across most boroughs of the city, the Met police does not care and neither does the government. It’s important to have your wits about you at all times, take taxis door to door after dark, ask trusted people to accompany you, avoid using your phone on the street and be prepared to sacrifice your finances for safety.
Posted: October 21, 2024When walking around the streets of London, make sure to keep you phone hidden at all times because there has been an increase of phone snatchers on electric bikes with masked faces and hoodies. Sometimes they will have knifes on them to threaten you taking your phones and your possessions

London is pretty safe so long as you hang around the right areas. Follow common sense rules and keep your phone safe. People are friendly and willing to help. Be mindful in the dark and crowded areas.
Posted: October 5, 2024It is unsafe especially if you are a tourist! Don’t walk around with your phone in your hand or it will be stolen.Don’t make eye contact with anyone. Don’t speak to strangers. Try not to look like a tourist

London is one of those cities in which you need to put good attention on your surroundings. Always keep an eye out and don’t walk flashing your phone and belongings. Phones, bikes, cars and even houses suffer the most in this city.

I really enjoyed my time in London, particularly my stay in Stoke Newington and London Fields. London Fields is a lively place with lots of bars, restaurants, pubs and the park itself is a great place to hang out on the weekend. Broadway Market on the weekend is full of activity and delicious market stalls. Jolene in Newington Green is my favourite cafe/restaurant - get there early to nab a sandwich before they sell out! The Tate and Barbican Centre are well worth the trip. And a walk along regents canal at sunset is beautiful. I feel safe in these areas but best to keep alert and aware e.g. I don’t wear my headphones if I’m waking at night. I usually get an Uber home if I’m alone and travelling far at night. The bus system is reliable and feels safe.
Posted: October 30, 2024Experienced: October, 2024London is a fantastic city. I stayed in a residential area so I felt very safe with my kids. There is loads of things to do. It's an expensive city, but worth every penny. The food isn't great, IMHO, but you can find good deals at the market especially.
