It looks like a nice small town, but at night, if you're outside the city center (in places like the train station) you can feel really unsafe. I know about a girl which a man tried to assault in front of the bus station near the train one. I myself experienced some crazy drunk men at the station that provoked me. BUT I feel like if you hang out in the city center there won't be any problem

Pavia is a small city and it's mainly inhabited by students. Overall I feel like it's a pretty safe city, I have never encountered any issue going back home at night by myself or walking and biking around the city even when it's dark.

Pavia is a very safe city. A very low number of people have been attacked here, you can even freely walk in the street during late night or early morning without feeling nervous. However there isn't much nightlife here.
Posted: December 31, 2024Quite safe during the day. Not very safe in the night, espcially if you aren’t in the center of the city. However public transport is quite safe and alsi the center of the city is quite safe. During the night, i advice to walk with friends and not alone
Posted: December 28, 2024It is very safe! Walking at night is never scary and streets are well lit! The town has a big city center which makes it very lively and full of people making the environment very friendly and safe. Defiantly a good place to solo travel
Posted: October 8, 2024Pavia is a very safe city, however, it is always advisable not to walk around the city alone at night. During the day, there are no particular problems, the center seems very quiet. People are generally friendly.
Posted: October 6, 2024Pavia is a small town, full of uni students, normally is very chill. I have lived there for 5 years and fortunately I have never had bad experiences. On the other side the viability is not at all good for bicycles.
Posted: July 14, 2024The city center is mostly safe, even in the evening. However, I don't feel completely comfortable going out alone in areas outside the central zones. There are occasional harassment cases, but, in general, it's a fairly safe town.

My recent trip to Pavia (April, 19)🩷. It was perfect for a day trip. Safe, calm town somewhere in between the medieval charm and modern facilities. We didn’t use transport as we walked around the city and it was manageable. As a food option we went with “All you can eat” that cost 20€/person excluding drinks. Places we visited and highly recommended to you as well: • Università di Pavia (my favorite) • Torri di Pavia • Castello Visconteo • Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine • Chiesa di Santa Maria di Canepanova Enjoy!🫶🏻
