Turin is overall safe. There are some areas that may feel uncomfortable but, since I start living here (2016) it never happen nothing to me. Although it’s better to ride a bike and be careful by nighttime. It’s important to check your personal stuff when there are crowds (expecially the beautiful open market in porta palazzo). That is due to the growing gentrification and racial politics that make for some categories hard to survive.
Posted: March 31, 2025I think that overall Turin is a safe city but the people in every city are the problem. I don't want to go out alone at night in Turin anyway. Expecially if you go maybe in Friday or Saturday night alone or with your friends in a place where there are "strange" person

Turin is safe based on which zone you go to. The centre is pretty safe, even at night, but I wouldn't recommend going out at night as a girl in zones far from the centre. At night, it's best to avoid parks and stations, because there might be groups of strangers or guys to bother you. During the day, Turin is pretty safe. I feel okay walking everywhere during daylight.
Posted: March 22, 2025As with every city, there are more or less safe areas. I recommend not to go to the barrier area of Milan alone. The historic centre is more frequented and also safer in the evening. In general it's a fairly safe city.
Posted: March 21, 2025It depends a lot on the neighborhood you're in. I think the safest zones are in the ovest side (like Crocetta, borgo san paolo, pozzo strada), and the worst are on the Nord, from Porta Palazzo on (like Aurora, Milan Barrier). San Salvario is a zone where you can have fun with friends, but I don't recommend walking alone at night in all the streets...
Posted: March 9, 2025Depends on the zone it can be a little bit scary. If you are a women, nights can be a little bit scary when walking alone, but unfortunately I believe is a universal feeling, it happens in most of the countries.

Its very safe overall, just a bit of concern for pickpocketing and wallet/ mobile getting robbed in public transport. I am living here for long time, and major places are very safe and homely, but areas like porta palazzo or barriera di Milano can be avoided in evenings.
Posted: March 3, 2025Overall, people are minding their own business and do not bother you. They are nice. No problem about going out and getting home with safety with public transportation. However, it’s important to pay attention to surroundings late at night.
Posted: February 19, 2025Until now I have not been feeling unsafe walking after dark in streets or in crowded areas but sometimes I have heard that some sexual harassment and rubbing happened in some areas. For example l heard that areas like milan barier and aurora are less safe.
Posted: February 15, 2025From my POV, Turin is quite a safe city during the day. Around the city center and in many neighborhoods such as Crocetta or San Donato, I would say it is safe at night as well. However, there are some parts of the city that is better to avoid like any city. I’ve heard stories of robbery, sexual harassment, and aggressions during the day/night especially in the Barriera di Milano neighborhood. This starts from Corso Giulio Cesare. Some say Aurora neighborhood is also to avoid, but it really depends from street to street. It is known to be a place where you may see addicts regroup, especially close to the Dora river. Porta Palazzo is also in Aurora, but while it might seem a bit dangerous, the area has improved dramatically in the last few years. I’ve been living around Piazza della Repubblica for years now and I feel safe, it’s just a multicultural environment: nothing new to experienced travelers.

Turin is worth a visit for a the weekend and also has some good places for food. You can easily get around by foot as the main attractions are all in the center. Better to buy the entry tickets for museuns in advance as some exhibitions are easily sold out. Also make reservations for restaurants, especially if you do not travel alone as most tables are booked in advance.

Italy
There is lots of interesting museums in Turin, you should definitely visit the royal museum and Egypt museum, if you have time the cinema museum is a nice addition and depending on the exhibitions could be really interesting. Don't go more north than Dora river thos its not safe, especially during the night

Hi, I'm Vevve! I'm a 23yo open-minded girl from Italy (Piemonte) and a nerd who likes anime and all sort of fandom stuff (books, TV series, animated shows, ao3 fanfictions, and so on). I love writing, growing plants, taking care of animals, staying at home to draw and getting lost in my own world, travelling, learning languages and eat sweet things! I would love to make safe friends and hopefully travel the world through mutual exchanges!
