I lived in Naples for at least 5 years; if you're in the company of men, nothing should happen, but if you're with women, you need to be a little cautious when going out at night. During the day, it's not dangerous; you just need to be careful when going to more populated or otherwise famous areas, because of pickpockets who might put their hands in your jacket pockets or backpacks. I always recommend not being alone; if you're alone during the day, nothing happens, but in the evening, you have to be very careful.
Posted: April 23, 2025i live in Naples and it's pretty safe if you know how to have confidence walking down the streets. Basically it's like "don't let the others give the impression of being a tourist", and it implies even in my own city.

The strongest element in the city is the great community all around. If someone sees or listen something they don’t like, they will interfere and help without hesitation. No one is left alone. Naples is known for a sad criminality history and we can say that just in the last 5/10 years the city opened completely to tourism. That’s why no one wants bad stuff to happen
Posted: March 17, 2025Naples is a city like Rome or Milan, not worst. As all the big cities in the world, you should avoid to walk alone in the most isolated neighbourhoods in the night. Careful to your phone and wallet even during the day, especially in the most crowded areas and on public transport.
Posted: March 10, 2025It's safe as long as you walk during the day, always keep your belongings in check and stay quiet, lol. not so safe for night walks, if you don't speak even a little bit of Italian, and also if you wear your backpack on your back, and you put money or phone in it, you most probably will lose it, and the police won't help you at all to find your belongings. last night I was out for a walk and a complete stranger approached to me, I said I don't speak Italian but he kept talking to me anyways, I guess he wanted money to buy a ticket to Sicily - 18 Euro 🫠 made me repeat myself a couple times that I did not have it with me. no matter how many times I said that I did not speak Italian, he still kept going. also, almost like 4-5 friends of mine got their phones stolen in the last 2 months. the post building got shattered and destroyed by the locals, because they sheltered a beaten up guy. I guess you must stay in your line. not too safe for women with SA experience, every mid aged or old man calls you bella, does not matter you like this or not. around garibaldi, it's not even safe in the day light, you might come accross fightings every evening, and the police cars and god knows. I thing the center of the city is much safer, but the places I've lived, I usually don't go outside after 9 PM 🥲

We went to Naples with my friends from high school, a group of 6 girls. We had an awesome time, everybody kept saying to us not to rent close to the train station but after all there was the cheapest option and the one we could afford. We only stayed for 3-4 days so I don't have Many reccomendations but we had discovered a bar near our place that we spend every night, the people were warm and even if we didn't spoke the language somehow we were able to communicate 💜 I would totally recommend ☺️
