It's safe as long as you walk during the day, always keep your belongings in check and stay quiet, lol. not so safe for night walks, if you don't speak even a little bit of Italian, and also if you wear your backpack on your back, and you put money or phone in it, you most probably will lose it, and the police won't help you at all to find your belongings. last night I was out for a walk and a complete stranger approached to me, I said I don't speak Italian but he kept talking to me anyways, I guess he wanted money to buy a ticket to Sicily - 18 Euro 🫠 made me repeat myself a couple times that I did not have it with me. no matter how many times I said that I did not speak Italian, he still kept going. also, almost like 4-5 friends of mine got their phones stolen in the last 2 months. the post building got shattered and destroyed by the locals, because they sheltered a beaten up guy. I guess you must stay in your line. not too safe for women with SA experience, every mid aged or old man calls you bella, does not matter you like this or not. around garibaldi, it's not even safe in the day light, you might come accross fightings every evening, and the police cars and god knows. I thing the center of the city is much safer, but the places I've lived, I usually don't go outside after 9 PM 🥲
Posted: February 11, 2025It depends on the neighbourhood. I would say generally it is safe, but one has to beware of pickpockets. I am content with the public transport, it is quite clean and organized and I wouldn’t consider it dangerous.
Posted: February 6, 2025In Naples you need to pay attention and have open eyes , people will always help you. Never put your mobile phone in your pocket and put visible expensive things. No accept presents because they can ask you money. Say Grazie and go
Posted: January 28, 2025Naples it’s a beautiful city but there are some places that are unsafe.Clearly people that lives here knew where to go and where to stay chill. For enjoying my city there are also many places that are unknown for most of the people.
Posted: January 26, 2025Naples is not known for its safety but in the last years it's grown to change for the better in some places it's better to NEVER go alone or after dark but in the majority of the city i don't mind walking alone at night
Posted: January 26, 2025I don't think it's a city more dangerous than others, many stereotypes aren't so true. But it is still a large and very complex city. Often, I don't feel safe; in the past, I was even attacked by a group of kids for no reason. But the greatest fear is definitely being robbed: in Naples, we would never leave anything unattended, the trust among citizens is very low. And the police are definitely not very cooperative.
Posted: January 18, 2025I feel pretty safe strolling around Naples' historic centre, even in the surrounded areas, but at night and expecially near the stations such as Garibaldi or Centro Direzionale, you should pay attention 24/7.

Naples is a chaotic city but I think it’s not unsafe as everyone thinks, in fact it is safer than a lot of big cities in Italy like Milan or Rome. In Naples you can eat delicious food basically everywhere but I do have some recommendations to avoid tourists traps and to save money.
Posted: July 27, 2024It isn't vrry safe, but if you know where to go and keep your eyes open, it's pretty fine. Just keep attention and don't go to isolated places, maybe ask locals the best bars/places where to go and everything will be fine!

It is a beautiful city especially. The trip is so much better when you add Sorento or Positano to the route. I was fine traveling with my friends. But some of my friends had some unfortunate incidents in the city so I suggest you to be very careful. But there is a lot to see and a lot to eat. Probably the best pizza I’ve ever eaten in Italy. You’ll have a great time as long as you’re careful.

Italy
I felt safe because I was not alone. There are many things to see such as the sea, Vesuvius, Pompeii, many churches, wonderful squares and also beautiful sights. For those who love nightlife there are many bars and discos. Our budget was 500€ per one for 1 week, there are many accomodations on booking.it It is well served by public transport, the food is very good but not very cheap( make the booking before to go on a restaurant or pizzeria if you don't want do a very long line)
