I was there for a few days on a girls trip. i felt really safe, whole day and even while coming back at night. I bet being in a group made me feel a lot more at ease but overall venice is giving calm, nice vibe.
Posted: May 11, 2025Catcalling and states are unfortunately all too common. That said, nothing serious has ever happened to me and I’ve always felt fairly safe. If you’re a solo traveller, please be aware of men and remain in public and well lit areas.
Posted: May 4, 2025I am not sure how to start this, I really like the city I live in, safety can be tricky you are never sure when could it happen to you too. I always make sure to be careful, watching my hand bag, checking everything and who is around me and nothing ever bad happened to me. At most just mean people and very very homophobic
Posted: April 29, 2025In my opinion it's considerably safe, especially the island. Even at night I don't feel uncomfortable walking home late and alone. Fortunately, I haven't experienced anything worse than catcalling. 🩷🩷

Venice is for the most part a safe city, since at night noone, literally no one is around you can feel pretty safe but then again if you meet someone it's just the two of you so it can be scary from this point of view. Just be careful and bring pepper spray with you but usually Venice street at night are empty. Just avoid Mestre city (the land, Venice is the island), Mestre can be very dangerous if you're staying there in an hotel to sleep, be very carefull, many of my friends there have been harassed.

Being in a group made me feel more safe and comfortable in a different country. It’s just so much fun to spend time with your friends but not in a basic, every day way. And if u get lost, at least u are together.
