Venice is in pretty safe. Of course, at night, u have to pay attention wherever you wanna go. As the other city. In particular, in the small "calle" check every time you enter the street before go and it s better if u are with someone at night, 2 people is better than just one.
Posted: July 18, 2025i’m very scared to walk after the all movies that i watched. but also there are some teenagers can be angry or drunk, so especially at night have to be careful abt that. water and bridges sometimes gives a scary vibe
Posted: July 15, 2025Recently a girl from my school has gone missing. The other day while I was going to the train station Santa Lucia, a man looked at me directly in the eye and put his hand in his pants and kept smiling at me. I have been followed only once, in Mestre. Many of my friends got robbed or mugged especially in Mestre and around train stations.
Posted: July 10, 2025Walking in the dark feels quite safe, it is better if you go straight and quick to your destination I think. Same as for pickpockets, there are many but they do not at all try with people that have a purposeful walking
Posted: June 25, 2025It's too popular a tourist destination. I don't think it's not safe here, because there are police and quite a lot of people. But you should keep an eye on your belongings very carefully. I would choose to live not in the city itself, but at some short distance from it to feel safer
Posted: June 8, 2025Venice is a safe and pleasant city, we have some problems with pickpockets but we just have to be careful, the homeless are there but they stay in their own homes and almost always don't bother people.

I solo travelled to Venice (F28) and it was one of the best weeks of my life! I stayed at Anda Hostel in Mestre which was very clean and had a mini club downstairs, plus it’s only a couple of minutes onto the island from there. The only issue is that it can be a bit noisy sometimes. There are so many beautiful sites to see, boat trips to do and history to take in, everywhere you walk feels like a storybook. (Or that episode of Doctor Who). I was slightly disappointed with the food in Venice but it was alright. Very easy to do day trips to places like Bologna and Florence too.
