I absolutely loved Rome! There is obviously so much history and so much culture to explore. It can be very touristy, but it is so worth it for the experience of actually being in the Coliseum or the Roman Forum.
Posted: February 12, 2026Beautiful city with so many amazing historical sites. Very crowded in many places but it’s pretty safe. You have to ask the locals for good restaurants, otherwise it’ll be shitty carbonara all the way

I had heard so many good things about Italy beforehand so my expectations were very high. It was little bit of a letdown for me. It was pretty but not that pretty, the streets were messy and it was extremely hot. We had an amazing and cheap hotel though and some of the attractions were beautiful!

There can be petty crime like pickpockets on metro but in general I feel very safe and never had any issues! I love Rome. The buses and all public transport has never made me feel unsafe. I also work late nights and go home alone at 4am and no issues of feeling unsafe
Posted: February 16, 2026not that safe, but don’t sacrifice your life! be a little careful & in groups (2 or 3 is also fine). most of the “dangerous subjects” here are addicts, in case of approach be very clear and don’t fear, but watch out and in case of danger run or scream. the centre of the town is most safe at night. termini is not as dangerous as one might think

Not much safe, expecially on public transport is not rare to hear about aggressions and also baby gangs are to be watched out from. You can walk in the streets at night, but being EXTREMELY cautious, because there are always dark people around, better to be in 2 or a group 👍🏻

Hello!! I am an architect with a PhD, a high school teacher, and a passionate traveler who loves discovering new cultures and experiences. I live in a comfortable home in Rome with my husband, where we have a guest room available for fellow women travelers. I enjoy sharing meaningful conversations, exploring hidden gems in the city, and connecting with people from around the world. In my free time, I play volleyball, explore new destinations, and spend time with my friends and my cat, Olivia. I would be delighted to host or exchange hospitality with like-minded women who value connection, culture, and adventure.
