Rome is safe if you know it! Avoid going around with wallets or phone on display, especially in more touristy areas or public transports. Personally I pay a lot of attention to my personal belongings when walking around the Termini area. I straight up avoid it at night, so I suggest to not book there your stay. San Lorenzo became safer during the recent years, but for example the area between Termini, San Lorenzo and Scalo San Lorenzo isn’t surely the best spot for walking at night alone.
Posted: April 27, 2025It depends on which areas you are visiting. I live near Roma Tiburtina, which is mostly inhabitated by people who live in the city and not turists so the crime is the same rate as any big city (the bigger the city the higher the rate i think). The closer you are to very turistics areas, the higher the change of being robbed. I would suggest not going near any of the big stations at night or when the sun sets, especially not Roma Termini (if you can avoid it altoghether i highly suggest it).

Rome is safe enough for solo travellers, as long as you always keep an eye on your belongings. I use public transportation daily and have never encountered any issues with it; I have however, seen mugglers around, especially in termini, so I'd be careful there. Overall, the city is moderately safe, and there is usually police officers near tourist places.

Rome is overall safe but you may expierience some creepy dudes coming to talk to you. I've always explored the city during the night hours and I've found myself being pretty confident that nothing could happen to me as long as I was in a public place with people around.
Posted: April 10, 2025Rome is quite safe and there's always people around even late at night. I live in a very quite area where I feel safe most of the time. I usually come back home at night from by using public transport and despite being alone, I have not experienced anything bad
Posted: April 10, 2025Pretty safe city in almost all areas. Might get cat called here and there, but usually nothing more than that and only in non central areas. Pay attention to pick pocketers especially in tourist places and public transport!
Posted: April 3, 2025You must be pretty careful when in Rome, it’s not a bad city you can enjoy evenings and have great time but it’s important to be careful especially to your personal belongings when walking around Rome or when you’re in the metro or bus!

As long as you walk around confidently and don’t make too much attention toward yourself then you will be fine but always keep an eye out for your belongings or on anyone you think is suspicious. Definitely walk with someone at night if you are unfamiliar with the area

I mean, it’s a big city, you cannot expect it to be 100% safe. But for the most part, at daytime you don’t really risk anything. What I would suggest is that if you want to go out at night be sure not to be alone, just for safety.

There are a lot of pickpockets, especially at termini, be safe there and just keep your eyes on your purse But I think that’s it Guys here are aware about boundaries and personal space, so usually if they see that you’re not interested, they will leave you alone

I would recommend booking things ahead if you want to enter the attractions, Vatican museums are a must if you are in Rome!! Also, if you are traveling low budget but still want to eat good Italian food, I recommend going to restaurants that are far from the main attractions.
Posted: April 26, 2025Experienced: March, 2025We were a group of 6 girls. Rome is a city like an open Museum, we were wondering all day, visiting museums and entering churches. It was a beautiful experience, a lot of walking but totally worth it. We were there only for 4 days so we didn't have the chance to see everything but we saw a lot of things. It has night life and everyone was super fun and friendly. We were staying outside of the city to a camping because we didn't found anything affordable close so it was a little bit difficult in that way but all in all we had a perfect time 💜 totally recommend ☺️

I'm studying japanese and korean and trying my best at it, and since this is my third and most likely last year in Rome I'd like to experience it at the best of my possibilities! I fell in love with the city and would love to live it with new people!

Hi everyone!!! i’m Simona, i’m 21 yo and i currently live in Rome, but i’m originally from a small town in the south of Italy. I’ve always loved to travel, and my goal is to be able to do it even if i’m still a broke student🎀🎀 I’m literally a social butterfly, i even talk with the walls sometimes, so if you need new friends make sure to hang out with me!! only flaw: my schedule is really tight, so i’m not always free to host people. Love y’all and stay safe♥️
