Verona city is always very safe in the day. Crimes are not so common, I don't know people who has being robbed. Be aware in the bus for phone and wallet but it's really rare to get robbed. During late night is a lot quiet, and you don't find many people hanging around. Some areas can be frequented by some annoying people, but they're usually not dangerous. The stations aren't very safe at night, should avoid little dark streets. Sometimes in the night you can find fascist messing around, they are usually young people dressed all black (there's a fascist group called "Il Mastino". Stay away from them
Posted: April 26, 2025Verona is a historic city, it's safe if you go in the city center, but there are for sure some bad zone where is not the best to go alone out of the city. Overall is not that bad, but you must be carefull
Posted: April 24, 2025Verona is a quite safe city although it has, like every city, its ups and downs. I personally feel safe navigating it, although there is occasional cat calling and in certain areas you have to be more cautious (like for example venti settembre street, the porta nuova train station and the porta vescovo train station).
Posted: January 23, 2025It’s safe because it’s a small town. You can walk alone through the streets and feel safe because there is always someone. Also public transports are safe. Of course some neighbourhoods are better than others but I’m happy to show you around.
Posted: January 19, 2025Verona is quite safe, of course there are some areas that is better to avoid after dark like the bus station and the train station as there are a lot of homeless people and drug sellers going around, but I happened to be forced to stay in those areas one night to wait for a flixbus and beside having anxiety for could have happened, actually nothing happened and no one talked to me. Sometimes there is police around to check the area. Inside the city on the other hand I always feel safe.
Posted: January 18, 2025It’s a pretty safe city if we’re talking about mugging or attacks, which happen more often to men. However as a woman I do worry about sexual harassment, from the usual catcalling or stares that happen every day, to the more rare touching. Precautions I take are: avoid being alone after dark, try to avoid “revealing” clothing, never accept rides or drinks from strangers.

I visited Verona 2 years ago for a school project. I stayed there for 4 nights and during my stay I felt very safe. The food and the water was quite expensive (in Greece is cheaper) but its was good. We had great time there visiting museums, and Romeo and Juliet house. It was kinda difficult to find open place to eat in afternoon or at evening but I suppose that’s how it’s works in Italy
