Birmingham has become my second home, where I live with my friends’ family in our council house. I head back there often, especially for ice skating during Christmas at the seasonal rinks around Centenary Square or Birmingham New Street—gliding under twinkling lights with hot chocolate afterward feels like a cozy tradition. The city’s welcoming vibe, from canal walks to local parks, keeps it special without the hype.

I felt safe with my family of 2 kids and my parents. It wasn't too hot in July but it was extremely crowded. I can believe that there's a lot of pickpocketing in the metro so I recommend being very cautious of that. Amazing city overall.

I loved being in Inverness. I felt very safe and everyone was super friendly. Loved the proximity to highland activities and the overall feel of the small city. I loved just wandering around. I even had to go to the hospital hah and it was great, shoutout to the people at Raigmore!

Had a great time and met so many friendly people . It was on the more expensive side considering the pound conversion, but such a homely vibe. You can totally find areas in the city that don’t feel to touristy and the old town is so beautifully preserved.

My Christmas trip to London was truly special. I really enjoyed walking around the park, feeling the festive atmosphere, and eating in those little wooden houses. There were so many national dishes — even Uzbek food like manty, which made me feel a bit like home. The prices were surprisingly good, and of course I couldn’t leave without buying a cozy scarf. Such a warm and memorable experience ✨🎄

Very very safe town in leafy Cheshire, UK. Crime is very low and it’s safe to take local walks, local transport and car journeys. It’s a very ‘local’ town, peaceful to live and work in and as a base to explore the north west

Birmingham isn’t the safest place in England, definitely has its fair share of crimes like petty theft and knife crime but as long as you mind your own business and don’t interact with random people, you should be fine. I’ve lived here for 2 years now and do take precautions like not staying out too late and not taking the public transport at a late hour so I’ve felt quite alright, not safe but just alright. In the day it’s better since there is crowds but typically there isn’t much to do around the city especially with everything closing around 5 pm.
Posted: February 5, 2026Really good community and safe to walk around. Never heard of much issues and the police station is quiet as barely used. There is a community page and very helpful people. They say hello in passing and get to know you places in frequently visted.
Posted: January 27, 2026It's fairly safe if you keep your whits about you and don't act like a idiot. If your walking round centre parts at night just be careful I've never had any problems and I'm a young girl so that says something.

i think that london is relatively safe compared to other popular cities as long as you are aware of your surroundings and dont go to dodgy area/ backroads you will be fine.Another thing to look out for is the phone snatchers they are all over

I'm in the final year of my undergraduate degree, living in Birmingham England. Growing up abroad has instilled a love for travel and adventure in me, and I make a point to fit it in wherever and whenever I can. I love EVERYTHING, I'm not joking. I've found the joy and excitement in everything I've tried. My main hobbies at the moment include pole dancing, and volunteering at a youth organization as a marine cadet instructor.

I have visited many places in my dance tour of the world era. My travel bucket list includes the rest of the world (pretty much). Curtesy of a long service leave, I’m currently planning to walk El Camino in May and June (I was encouraged to donut when I completed TMB) and to get a cat-friend (or two) when I get back :-)
