I enjoyed traveling to London I was able to visit several famous places as well as museums The only negative points were that I could not choose my own program, and that the sandwiches that we received in host families were not very good I enjoyed it and I felt great there What is certain is that I have finally scheduled my program to go back, all I have to do is choose the dates !
Posted: November 20, 2025Experienced: March, 2025i’ve been in london with a friend of mine two years ago in september. we’ve been hosted by a madam who was a old friend of my friend’s parents. she lived in maida valley, a lovely neighborhood far about four subway stops from Trafalgar Square. the city is wonderful and full of cultural activities, we went every night to the theatre. i really suggest to go to the globen theatre to see some shakespeare’s play. the food isnt so good, but its a good city to try multiethnic food, especially in the borrow market. we felt pretty safe with the light, but there are some weird subjects, so you always have to keep your eyes open, in fact everyday at 22.00 we were at home.

Edinburgh I think is the perfect place for a solo trip (my first!). I stayed at the High Street Hostel which was really social and cosy. We went out with groups and I always felt safe. The whole area around the Royal Mile felt very safe. Visiting the castle is so worth it. Lots of interesting things to do here. Walkable and beautiful. Go up Calton Hill for a view.

I find it hard to relax in London, you need to stay vigilant with your belongings especially mobile phone, devices, bags, headphones etc. Some parts are safer than others but on the whole it’s high in crime rate.

Safe but mindfulness of the surroundings is required on a night out. Main streets well lit.
Posted: December 4, 2025Around Berkshire generally is 50/50. Anything can happen. Some people can end up in trouble but it’s down to you in the end. Most streets are similar some a lot nicer than others. Just be alert like you would going to any other county/city/town. There are some really nice areas, Wokingham/Finchampstead as well as parts of Caversham or areas around Windsor that can be quite pleasant. Whereas towns like Reading or Slough can be a bit more rough.

Hi! I’m Maristel. I’m from Peru, but I currently live in Manchester, UK🇬🇧 I work in marketing, and I recently finished a master’s degree in sustainability. I love traveling and creating connections with people from around the world🌎 Something I love about this continent (Europe) is the diversity of the people living here💛It’s amazing to see how good connections can be formed among individuals from very different countries, cultures, religions, etc. I think that’s beautiful! Even though I’m very new in Manchester, I’m happy to give advice to travelers coming here or to the UK in general :)
