Exeter is a relatively safe city. There have been some incidents of violence against women walking alone at night. During the daytime it is very safe. People tend to leave you alone. There is a large homeless population who can be trouble makers in some parts of the town.
Posted: January 10, 2025I feel Exeter is a relatively safe city for women. It's a small city, but there are always plenty of people around. Obviously everyone should be cautious when walking/travelling alone at night, but apart from that it's a great city to visit.

One of the lowest crime rates in the UK. Feel free to travel and explore, day and night everywhere here! Also the city are mostly elderly and young uni students, you’re safe go on night clubs and parties.

Hey, I'm a 39 y/o British professional, working in environmental engagement. I'm on a career break this year and want to use my time to explore an area of the world that I've always been intrigued by but never gotten to... Central and South America (mainly). I'm very 'outdoorsy', open and honest and often just need a little encouragement to overcome my fears and take an adventurous leap in life. I'm looking to connect with other solo female travelers and hosts, especially those in Mexico (Chiapas region), Guatemala, Peru (including Inca Trail) and Chile. I'll be traveling from August this year, starting probably in Mexico (San Cristobal)...with a mixture of WWOOFing and holiday. I'll also look to do a short Spanish course for 1-2 weeks to start the trip. 🕵️Are you also looking for an adventure buddy, or are you living in one of these counties and are happy to share your knowledge for a few days... Please let me know 🙏
