Very cute and sweet city, nothing will happen! Central Station area is a bit strange at night, but I never felt unsafe, more like a youth gathering spot that will usually play some music or hang out for a smoke, otherwise super lovely!
Posted: March 5, 2026I am not aware of any safety issues. Even parks after dark are okay to walk through, but I must say I have no worries going out alone at night in Germany anywhere so far. Also clubbing alone is possible, but stay aware.
Posted: August 28, 2025It feels really safe, the streets and other common areas are well lit. There is a lot of police presence in the Citycentre and the Main station, especially at night. I grew up there, worked in the city centre till late at night, and am often out partying on the weekend. I have always felt pretty safe, even at night and the people there are mostly really friendly and helpful.
Posted: July 24, 2025there are some places to avoid alone at night, like the "alter Friedhof" or "Blaustrand" but overall it's very safe. You can absolutely walk at night and I've never been afraid while going home alone.

Ulm is generally safe place you won't feel any problem while traveling. It is a small city, and most of them are locals or students. I haven't seen any crime issues here. Even at night, the city center and residential areas are safe.
Posted: March 9, 2025Ulm is pretty safe for solo travelers, as long as you don't stay out late at night especially near the Hauptbahnhof and Ehingertor. The crime rate etc. is quite low I'd say and most of the time it's very busy depending on where you are.
