I felt most of the time safe. Around the trainstations in Hamburg it is not that safe. Especially at Hauptbahnhof. I liked the Bunker. There you can go up for free and have a beautiful view over the city. Additionally I was in "Naschcafé" which i can recommend. The food there is really good. Also "Falafelprinz" at Schanze. You can get there cheap Falafelwraps. If you like to go into a museum, you should try "Deichtorhallen" or "Kunst und Gewerbe". All in all, it was a really nice trip.
Posted: August 6, 2024Discovering Hamburg for the first time. It is an atypical city, very interesting with several aspects. I really enjoyed walking along the river and taking the public boat that allows you to discover the city. The architecture of the city as well as its monuments and churches are magnificent. I recommend spending at least 2 days there and if you are lucky with beautiful sunshine. Concerning the food, you absolutely have to try a fish sandwich on the port. On the other hand, it is a city that can be dangerous for a girl alone. Especially the area next to the station.
Posted: June 12, 2024Experienced: May, 2024- felt very safe - easy to cycle - nice food - super shopping street - nice drug stores (DM) - people are friendly - public transport very good - better weather than Netherlands lol - lots of good places to stay at
Posted: June 2, 2024Hamburg is safe, nice and beautiful! I loved to walk around in the summer evening without any problems or anyone bothering, the food is nice and there are many places to visit. My favorite places were the streets with Portuguese restaurants, specially the cafe Crystal, where I used to have my breakfast. I would definitely go again.

I loved everything about the city the buildings the landscapes, the river there , how good looking the people were, the food as well especially that they surve turkish food. I enjoyed my experience it was full of museums including the music museum which waa for free, u can also have a boat tour and sunbathe by the sea. I love Hamburg

The city is generally safe but there are unfortunately pickpockets in public transportation and robbery in general (bikes, luggage, bags, wallets). There are also districts where they could be/feel less safer than others especially at night
Posted: August 26, 2024Hamburg is overall a pretty safe city. Of course, there are some places you don’t want to be in the dark and alone, and sometimes, you have to actively ignore people who catcall you, but I’ve never experienced someone who tried to harm me. They usually only talk to you if they need food or money for you and when you decline, they don’t harass you

Kon'nichiwa! I am 31 years old, a graphic designer, artist and interior designer. I am a very creative and adventurous person. I love to laugh! I am german-italian and original from Hamburg, but have been living in Italy for almost 3 years. Since this year I am always traveling, I have seen almost all of Italy. I really enjoy every moment when I am traveling. My dream has always been to travel to Japan, and now I will spend 2 months there. I would like to immerse myself deeply in the culture of Japan and want to make new Japanese friends. I also meditate and would love to find a meditation center in Japan. I love to share beautiful moments in good company and would be happy to maybe get to know you as well :)

Getting around in Hamburg with public transportation works fine! Avoid reeperbahn or just give it a quick visit but for example in the sternschanze you can find many save places for woman and an alternative community! Try the falafel from 'Falafelstern' or have yourself delicious vegan cakes from 'Kjeks'
Posted: June 30, 2024You have to take ride with the harbour ferry. Its inclouded in the metro ticket and you can experience Hamburg from the waterside. In "Oevelgönne/Museumshafen", you can walk along the beach of the river "Elbe".
