A great place if you love open skies, wind-swept landscapes, a 180- degree view of the sea from above the cliff, big swells but very safe beaches [no dangerous currents], fish and chips, fiery sunsets to be watched from the old pier, meeting deer when strolling in the woods [ even sometimes on the beach], watching birds and meeting the occasional juvenile seal on the beach, taking midnight walks on the beach [ very safe], and in the winter, do some exciting storm watching as waves crash onto the promenade and send water up to 30 metres into the air. Arrive by train or bus from Norwich. Not so great for shopping or eating out cheaply unless you like crab. You can buy one ready to eat and very delicious from a local fisherman who sells the catch of the day [really!] from his front door
