Hi! I'm Alice Maia, 🌊I've lived in Genova all my life and I love meeting new people. I will gladly chaperone you around🚶🏻♀️whenever I'm available, give indications and eventually host🛌🏻 if it's possible for me and my family. I really enjoy meeting new people from all around the world and chatting💬 about literally everything. Also I have cats! Putting it here because I keep forgetting people I host might be allergic😅 🎯I want to start traveling solo, but haven't done so yet. I hope this community will help me with this goal:) I'm very interested in knowing how other people experience life, I like to know what you think of my culture and my city, and I will probably ask a lot about yours too, if you agree to! Basically I love sharing stories, ideas and everything else!🗣️ I feel like travelling and making friends should be for everyone, so feel free to contact me if you have any particular concern (e.g. you have a disability, are part of a minority and are concerned about your safety etc) Among other things, here's a few of my interests! - I study Environmental Sciences🌍🌎🌏 - I'm a climate justice activist📢 - I love volunteering as a Scout Leader in one of our local groups⚜️ I've been a scout all my life since I was 8 and I love this world, so if we share this experience let's talk about it! I know it can be very different being a scout around the world:) Other things that might be interesting: - I try to live as sustainably as possible, including following a vegetarian or vegan diet🧆 - I have a chronic illness that means my energy levels can vary a lot from one day to the other, so I'll need to plan anything carefully to be sure I can make it through the day🔋 - I'm neurodivergent🧠 - I'm all about inclusion and accessibility, so feel free to tell me about any of your needs or boundaries!🫂

Hello everyone! I'm Elena from Vicenza, a small but lovely city in the northeast of Italy. I'm a curious, cheerful traveler, always ready to step out of my comfort zone. I love getting lost in nature, tasting new foods, diving into adrenaline-filled and authentic experiences, and being amazed by different cultures. When I’m not traveling, I work in project management and sales — but my heart beats for freedom, scribbled-on maps, and those random encounters that turn into unforgettable memories. I'm looking for travel buddies or a place to stay with women like me: respectful, curious, and eager to share a bit of the journey... or a crazy experience that starts with “why not?!”. 🌍✨ Now in my native language: Ciao a tutte! 🌍✨

Hi! I’m Francesca, but friends call me Fra. I’m 37, Italian, and currently navigating life between motherhood, creativity, e hosting people in homes I’ve shaped with care. I work a lot, think troppo, and lately I’m craving more wild air and women who speak with their eyes. I don’t need luxury, just authenticity: salt on the skin, night talks, light backpacks and real presence. I love small bookstores, dirty sandals, fresh sheets, and humans who know how to listen without interrupting. If you’re planning a weekend escape, a roadtrip, or even a few days by the sea doing nothing but being, I might be your kind of traveler. Sometimes I travel with my 11-year-old son (he’s brilliant), sometimes solo (still figuring out who I am without being needed). Let’s share a sunset, cook something simple, find the quiet kind of fun, or just walk for hours. I believe in kindness, eye contact, a bit of madness, and a lot of freedom. Write me if any of this feels like home. 🌿
We generally felt safe walking out in Rome. There is a great number of tourists, as well as immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and India who work in restaurants, cafeterias etc. Italians generally don't know english so you should know basic words to move around. Rome is not too expensive and offers top food choices
Posted: November 13, 2025Experienced: September, 2025We arrived to Catania and immediately i felt overwhelmed with the loudness of the streets. I was quite unsafe to walk as pedestrians on the street as all the cars were speeding and honking. The evening walk to see the old town of catania was a bit disappointing as all the streets are extremely dirty. At night in Catania, the streets can feel busy and intrusive. Some people, especially near restaurants and tourist areas, may try hard to get your attention or invite you in. While most don’t mean harm, it can sometimes feel uncomfortable, and a few might make inappropriate comments. It’s best to stay confident, ignore unwanted attention, and keep walking — they usually move on quickly.
