I’m a 20-year-old medical student from Palermo. I’ve always been passionate about the sea, and I spend as much time as I can surfing or windsurfing. I love sports in general, especially when they allow me to be outdoors and connected with nature. I enjoy both nature-focused trips and cultural ones, and when I travel I love immersing myself in the local culture and meeting people from the area. Is Palermo safe for female travelers?
Solo travel
Palermo was incredibly beautiful. A lively city next to the sea, good food and beautiful places around. The city strongly smells of fish and moisture! If that makes any sense! Also, not many people speak English. But they are warm and helpful if you try to communicate with them using Google translate. The city was not at all dangerous, but I'd still advise to be cautious.
