Amersfoort is a city I grew up in and I always experienced as a safe city, still I would always recommend to let someone you trust know where you are and what your up too… and if you go out in the night go with someone you trust…

I think Amersfoort is a very safe city for female travelers. I wouldn’t be out alone too late in the middle of the city center, but overall I think it’s super safe. The busses come often and it has a safe atmosphere.

In general it's quiet safe. However throughout the week (at night or in the evenings) there might be groups of teens on fatbikes around the city centre, usually they don't do or say anything but sometimes they're with many and that can feel a bit intimidating. There are also some incidents with violence but to be honest, I only know about them because I follow the local news. Throughout the day, during holidays and weekends it's usually safe because of the high number of people on the streets.
