I felt sade my entire visit. I went to stay at a friend’s house and try some restaurants as well as experience the life in Amsterdam. Overall, it was quite enjoyable, I tried a ramen shop, a dessert place, and a road-side hotdog store; they were all amazing and I would definitely recommend visiting Amsterdam.
Posted: October 24, 2025I loved Amsterdam and I would like to go as soon as possible. There are endless possibilities regarding how to spend time. I loved just strolling around the streets. I was always with someone so I felt safe. My only minus is that it is a bit pricey.
Posted: October 21, 2025Experienced: October, 2024It was an excellent short trip of 3 nights and 4 days. We agreed to meet with a friend there and enjoyed the city, the parks, the canals, museums, food and the Netherland atmosphere. We liked it a lot as we are loving traveling and new experiences. I wrote it was a solo trip, because we both came from different countries and we met only in Amsterdam. If you want to visit this city, just go for it, you'll love it.

Loved Amsterdam !! Only went there for a few days and stayed in a hostel but I wished I could have stayed longer! I had always wanted to go see the tulips in the Netherlands and was able to fulfill that wish! The city is beautiful!! Loved the pea soup! The public transports are very easy to use. Everyone I talked to was so nice. And was able to go see Craig Conant's show. Hoping to go back one day!
Posted: September 21, 2025Experienced: March, 2025I traveled during King’s day, which js supposed to be a day for partying and super good vibes. However, I felt like people were extremely rude towards foreigners. They would call me names, stare down at me and the people I had befriended on my hostel. Genuinely, hated the whole experience. Left earlier than expected. It worries me that some nations are becoming very intolerant towards other cultures and visitors.

Super safe city in the netherlands! There really little to worry about. But as a woman you still always have to be careful everywhere you go. I have never really felt in danger during the day, but at night because in the center you can feel a but unease because tourists sometimes come to Amsterdam for the wrong reasons (prostitution etc…)
Posted: December 3, 2025It' really safe for solo travelers, people is really friendly and a lot of people on the street , u can find something for everybody and feel free to come in conversations or even drink coffee with the stranger
Posted: December 3, 2025I would walk round at 3am alone as a female and feel perfectly safe. In the day its even more safe but people do say to keep wary of pickpockets in crowd by the centre, however i havent experienced anything bad there either fortunately

I’ve been living in Amsterdam for three months now and I can say it is pretty safe, I have never felt in danger especially in the city center, it’s always alive. Biking or walking late at night outside the center might be a little scary because the streets are empty but not unsafe necessarily.

I usually feel pretty safe here. I often go out after 9-10 pm and I haven’t faced any problems yet. I hear that sometimes bikes get stolen but it hasn’t happened to me. It also depends on the part of the city - the city center is always filled with people so it’s safe. I live in Noord and here people seem friendly enough.

I was born in Southeast Poland, raised in Amsterdam, studied Art&Design in Rotterdam and now I am living my dream in South India where I am working on becoming a yogini🧘🏽♀️ I enjoy more of a quiet living even tho I live in the busy centre of Amsterdam. I have my spots in the city and stay away from the crowded areas in town. I love food (both making and consuming), I enjoy arthouse cinema, late night walks, swimming outdoors in the summer and all the simple small things of everyday living.
Enya
Amsterdam
Hi there :D my name is Enya, I am 21 years old and I currently live in Amsterdam. I study Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics - you might already guess; I have many interests, but I'm also quite an indecisive person. Originally, I'm from Frankfurt am Main, the finance center of Germany ;) But I realized soon enough that I didn't want to stay there after finishing high school, and instead had the urge to explore the world. During my gap year, I did an interrail trip through Italy, Slovenia, Hungary and Austria. I also travelled to South East Asia and volunteered in a party hostel in London. No I'm looking forward to my first semester Holidays from Uni and thinking of doing interrail again, but this time through France, Spain and Portugal. I'm hoping to get to know many nice and fascinating people and get the opportunity to observe and learn from others' lives :)))

Hi! I’m Rosie, 36, originally from Scotland via London and Amsterdam. I’m an artist and a passionate home baker. I love all things food. My favourite travel activities are reading, journaling, contemporary art and coffee, not necessarily in that order! And I love to go the beach 😊 I’m an extrovert, love to socialise and meet new people, hopefully you one day when we happen to be in the same city!
