Lately femecide has been happening more often. Nit scared of getting robbed necessarily but not comfortable being alone outside at night. Also cat calling happens at night and men following especially in city center

Leeuwarden is very save you can walk alone in the city every body you see is nice and I have never experienced a bad situation. One time there was an attempt to break into my home. But it wasn't successful.

I would say Leeuwarden, being the capital of Frisia, is a safe place. At night, don't wander of too much of the centre if you want to be sure. There are some parts, like every city, that I wouldn't go alone in the dark. At night there is plenty of security around the bars!

The city feel pretty safe, there were occasionally some scary cases in the past 2 years I live here but that might be sadly everywhere at this point. Because Leeuwarden is filled with a lot of international students that have each others back, I tent to feel very safe, free and on ease.

i find it safe overall. Although sometimes, there are crimes such as store robbery. The nearest assault on girls were in October. If you walk in the central and bright places, it’s totally safe. Some zones have gangs. The people here are friendly though. I rarely see pickpockets as well. Maybe due to the town is small, I pay attention more in crimes. But the crime rate is not high compared to other cities
