It’s fairly safe although there are some very small alleys in the city that I would avoid at night. Just use common sense basically and avoid certain places in the dark. Otherwise haven’t really experienced any trouble

I think Zwolle is a safe town. It’s nothing like Amsterdam. People living here gave an average score of 7,4 out of 10. Sometimes bad things happen, but the frequency is low. I feel pretty safe here myself.
Posted: January 10, 2025I personally experience Zwolle as a pretty safe city. I generally feel comfortable, although there is one neighborhood that I’m personally not a hundred percent comfortable walking through at night, but I cycle through without any worries. That neighborhood is called “holtenbroek”.

Zwolle is a friendly, cozy city. I have not had any negative experiences yet. However I am always attentive, no matter where I am. Sometimes I feel like going for a walk in the evening, I feel safe then, but I would not recommend walking in parks or forest nearby the center during night times.

Nothing happens here to be honest there is police everywhere. And if something does happen police will arrive within 10 minutes. But I’ve never heard about such a thing happening to a tourist or anyone for that matter
Posted: December 24, 2024Like anywhere, bad things can happen to women alone. However, nothing has ever happened to me in Zwolle, apart from maybe some catcalling. I’ve lived here for 5 years now and it is a really safe place to be alone. People are nice and open to help, women help each other out!

Hello! My name is Mirte, and loving travelling! I lived in Ireland for 3 years and made it a home away from home. Recently bought a rooftop tent and I'm planning a big Irish roadtrip in the summer to further explore and visit friends. Can't wait! I am an art teacher at a college and am a volunteer at the local concert hall, so I get to see all the good gigs. I'm open to meeting travel buddies and also looking for someone to mind my cat here in the Netherlands when I'm away.

I’m open for conversation ☺️ I hope I’ll make some friends here. I can take some photos of you if you want (of course for free)
