Traveled to Amsterdam with my sister. Was a lot of fun but the Restaurants somehow were pretty expensive (for a broke student😅) The Rijksmuseum was very interesting and beautiful to look at and learn new things. I would suggest to book a trip on a faerie through the city (you see a lot) and also a stroopwaffel course. Was great fun!

I visited the Netherlands with a high school group back in 2024. I really enjoyed the architecture and the whole aesthetic. We mostly stayed in Amsterdam and I really enjoyed the cold weather and chill vibes the city had. My only complaint was that everything was so expensive.. for example in my country a watter bottle costs 0.5€ and there it costed like 3-4€
Posted: January 5, 2026The Netherlands is a beautiful country to travel. I travelled solo and felt pretty safe roaming around throughout the cities. The best place i visited was the small village named Giethoorn which they call as Venice of the Netherlands

Began with warm soup and reuniting with family, next day powered through up to the Summit of Mount Snowdon, conquering a whooping 3000ft climb! So proud of my 68 year old grandad coming back for round two since 1989 finally making it to the top and setting that family bar just one more time! Next day did some local sight seeing and stumbled across a beautiful waterfall that I also just had to climb. Accompanied by my dad which was a laugh as we always said we wanted to travel together, many more where that came from I say. Finished off with more beautiful home cooked meals, catered by my...

I went on my second trip to the Netherlands last month and visited Ansterdam, Nijmegen, and Rotterdam over a week! This was my first working holiday so I now know of a lot of good places to work remotely from those cities (so get in touch if you’d like any recommendations!) but Amsterdam ClickNoord Hostel was really great for its location and female dorms — I met another solo traveller who introduced me to this app there! In Rotterdam I’d recommend you stay close to the city since there doesn’t seem to be very much to do further out, but overall I felt very safe out and about and on public...

Deventer is a chill town, I never feel like I have to be hyper aware of my surroundings. I like how people look out for each other. Not a lot of crimes, not a lot of fights etc, nightlife is okay, there will always be wierd man tho lol
Posted: January 28, 2026Overall safe but women always need to be careful. Street muggings rarely happen, but men are often a nuisance. Cat calling, unwanted touch in bars/clubs, unwanted attention can happen anywhere. Central station has a lot of dodgy guys hanging round. Avoid red light district if you want to avoid drunk men. Don’t get high in a coffee shop alone and never leave your drinks unattended.
Posted: January 24, 2026Only once there were people who started a small drugs business in the house that they were renting until then there was never a crime committed till then sometimes people blow up a bin for dog poop or a bus stop that gets destroyed
Posted: January 15, 2026You can walk alone through the centre and neighbourhoods without concern, also at night. It's very safe here. But do lock your bike, especially in summertime. But, do pay attention to your surroundings at night near the campsites. It’s not recommended to wander there alone, because it's secluded and very dark because of the trees. At day times it's perfectly safe to go there alone.

As an alternative looking and often pretty open-dressed woman - i feel safe here; ofc like everywhere - people can be rude but it is nothing extra or special in Maastricht at all. sometimes i see some hooligan man packs 😁 but i make fun of them and don't see them as a threat :))

Hello, I am Esther :) Living in the Netherlands but spending lots of time in Paris too! I am always in for - a good conversation - an urban exploration including visiting lots of parks, bookstores and viewpoins - jam session - having some time to read my book - spending time in a cafe on my own or with friends drinking coffee (daytime) or beer (evening/night). I would say that I live by the saying that the best things in life happen unexpectedly and (solo) traveling really proved that :) Feel free to send a message if you have any questions about NL or just feel like talking :)

Hey hey! I'm Asmin! It's difficult to introduce myself in these few sentences, but what I can say is that I'm a daydreamer, friendly and sensible person and according to my friends I am always an amusing, caring, and alive and kicking person. I was an Erasmus student in Warsaw almost 6 years ago and in 2016 summer I worked in NJ, the USA by work and travel program, I finished my bachelor's and masters in psychology. Now I am doing second masters in clinical psychology. I'm here because traveling, meeting new people, discovering new cultures, and trying new things is my lifeblood so to say, and couchsurfing is a brilliant opportunity to achieve these. I was on couchsurfing before. Here is my profile/references: https://archive.ph/eNIEV What I Can Share with Hosts I'm a petsitter I can help you out with your furry babies. I can cook Turkish foods, we can talk about psychology and I can share my memories and experiences that I gained through my travels and anything that I feel that I know well. I can teach you some Turkish folk dance :) Amazing Things I’ve Done I left all the things and I decided to live in Poland without knowing any Polish and anyone. Well, i tried my best! Scuba diving! You will be addicted to underwater after meeting the wonderful world. It is awesome! I tread the boards 1 musical and 1 play in front of more than 200 people. I climbed the highest point of the Tatra Mountains in Zakopane aannd I didn't break my bones. It is an amazing thing for such a clumsy person like me. I hitchhiked around Europe. Oslo to Stockholm, Warsaw to Vienna, and so on. Totally 5215 km btw October '15- May'16. I attended EQC'16 (European Quidditch Cup) in Italy in April 2016. ( I broke my ribs during the games but I don't regret it. It was an amazing weekend!)
