I loved my stay alone in Venice. I stayed there for 3 nights. The first day, I visited the whole main island on foot going to Punta della Dogana, then crossing Punta dell’Academia I went to Piazza San Marco, then Ponte di Rialto to reach the Jewish quarter. Very very nice. The second day, I went to visit the islands of Murano and Burano. I went to restaurants solo every day and ate really well. I recommend going to small traditional restaurants that are located in alleys.

Venice is a beautiful place; the people are very kind and pleasant. Not to mention, the food is amazing. You can do everything on foot, but the transportation is also safe. It's a very busy city with a lot of people at the same time.
Posted: August 3, 2024Experienced: July, 2022I loved Venice I stayed outside next to the train station in ANDA Venice and I would definitely suggest it! There wasn’t a lot to do so I decided to walk around and find the cool little spots! Walking around alone felt super safe but not so much on the main land at night!!

I was feeling safe there. I've stayed in a hostel that was not far away from the city center. The public transport is "vaporetto"and I highly recommend to buy a ticket abonement for the quantity of days that if you will be there like 2 days or 3 days ticket. It will be cheaper
Posted: June 27, 2024Experienced: September, 2023Venice was a beautiful city that is so walkable and busy that it makes things interesting. The city sometimes feels like a maze and it is enjoyable walking around with no activities or destinations in mind. It's honestly so budget friendly in that way. The architecture is so beautiful and the San Marcos cathedral is only 3 euros. I recommend getting an all day ferry pass because your feet will be tired at the end of the day. You must try the tiermisu it's so delicious!

Venice is a beautiful city. During the day there are a lot of crowds and it doesn't help that some of the pathways are very narrow. While in those places i did keep an eye on my belongings. Other than that Venice is safe and and very pretty. I do recommend buying the 20eur ticket that allows you to visit a lot of museums and churches. Not all of them are amazing but most of they are a good attraction to see.
Posted: June 22, 2024Experienced: March, 2023Loved Venice in winter time with high water. The gates were left open and the city was flooded. Dec is a very quiet time to visit the city. I walked the entire day. There were very few visitors. Had the best time
Posted: June 9, 2024Experienced: November, 2020I was staying with Italian friends and I loved it. It was the best of solo traveling and having a cozy warm space at home. In general I feel Venice gets too crowded / don’t really recommend more people to go because locals loosing access to affordable home is real. Both flats the friend lived at were now converted into airbnbs. I stayed for 10 days, I feel as it’s not the biggest place perhaps you could stay for less time / also not stay inside of Venice and e.g. go there by bus. Other cities are fairly accessible, I can recommend using Flixbus.

I loved Venice! Despite all the tourists you can find quiet places, you just have to get away from the typical tourist routes. I felt very safe. The food is so yummy - do some research to not end in a tourist trap though.

It was super - so much art - about food: I only take Cicchettino and mozzarella in carrozza… outside so expensive - so much beautiful the sea and the quiet - it’s really really safe, like a bubble - Venice accent is so funny - you louse yourself on the bridges, are many … - it was unique, I will return

Venice is a safe city, because of tourism the authorities keep it very safe. You may see some socially marginalized people in the area next to mestre station but overall you can feel safe moving around at night alone as a woman
Posted: September 9, 2024venice is a very safe city. Not having cars it makes me feel much more safer compared to other cities. I often walk alone even in the night and I almost always felt safe. Anyway you need to pay attention to your belongings, there could be thieves stealing stuff around!

Hi guys, I'm a physics teacher looking to travel safely and meet up with people wherever I go. I love to travel during my breaks (and even the occasional weekend!) as much as possible. I enjoy museums, galleries, theatres, markets, and hanging out. I love learning languages and am obsessed with learning different writing systems in my free time. I am local to Central London, and while I do work full time (and more), please feel free to connect and allow me to show you around, point you to the best musicals, or provide a place to stay.
