Overall a safe and quiet place, usual teenagers groups that you never know what they can come up with and some can look aggressive. During the day is all good, in the evening during the week quite a desert place
Posted: January 3, 2025I would say that generally speaking Bolzano is a safe city. But despite the first impression of quietness and safety, it is starting to get more risky and dangerous to be a woman moving around the city alone in the dark and home burglaries are becoming a thing. But the city is still a small one and till you move in the center it is definitely one of the safest one in Italy.
Posted: December 26, 2024Bolzano is a small safe city and it’s also well connected. There’s nothing to worry much and at night I’ve mostly felt safe with minimal concerns like encountering someone drunk or mentally unstable (but that’s rare from my experience)

It is overall a safe city during the day. At night it also feels safe for most parts, but caution should be exefcised as in all cities. A disadvantage is that the city becomes quiet early in the night so some people may feel uneasy walking alone. Caution should be exercised around the train station area. Also, if travelling by bike, make sure to lock it, etc, as they are essily stolen.

I am a fairly anxious person, so keep that in mind. I n general you’ll be pretty safe walking anywhere during daytime, and at nighttime too since you probably won’t be venturing in the most “distant” neighbourhoods. The nighttime illumination is great. I think the one real downside is that it is a small city and, outside of the city centre, there won’t be many people around at night, so the streets can feel pretty deserted.
Posted: May 19, 2024I think is a safe city, but, like almost all over the world, we always have to take a look around us! Is a small town, with university, just take care during the night if you walk outside the city, on some bicycle road!
