Byron is very safe at night I have heard of people cars getting stone but nothing crazy. During the night there are many people out and about and it feel very safe. Byron is a hug backpacker city so easy to meet people too
Posted: February 23, 2025Melbourne is generally pretty safe, certain areas are worse than others. I don’t like walking alone at night to be on the safe side. Always travel with caution, and ideally not alone during the night. Other than that it’s a super welcoming and fun place to visit!
Posted: February 15, 2025Cairns is generally pretty safe, I’m not worried about walking around during the day. I would be more wary walking around the night club area at night but that could be just me. But other places are ok. There have been a few drunk aboriginal people I’ve been wary of when walking around at night but there is a lot of security and police officers making sure intoxicated people are safe (to themselves) but also the general public.
Posted: February 14, 2025Very safe to live in. I live alone and I’ve never been worried for my safety. I think that like anywhere you need to have your Witt’s about you but providing you’re being generally aware in my area and the city in general it’s very safe
Posted: February 11, 2025Brisbane overall is pretty safe, there are some areas which are more of a problem than usual, and people should always be careful after dark but I've never had anything happen to me in the last 7 years personally even in some of the more male dominated areas.

Would say in general it’s a safe place but certain areas like the party strip in Surfers can feel more unsafe at night particularly around the early hours of the morning. But general busy areas like pacific fair, Robina town centre, the casino etc. feel safe as a woman. Sometimes train stations can have the odd strange person that could make you uncomfortable but best to keep distance and avoid speaking to them and you’re fine.

It’s quite safe here generally, particularly if you just avoid interacting with certain people (it’s obvious, usually drug related but nothing outwardly unsafe). I’ve lived here my whole life and have never been in any altercations or incidents where I’ve felt unsafe.
Posted: February 8, 2025I feel pretty safe in here but like near fortitude valley(street with clubs and bars) on friday to weekend, it feels quite dangerous because of the drunken people. And especially, if i go to club, i should to keep looking someone gonna touch too much or try to touch to my friend and it feels so bad
Posted: February 8, 2025Brisbane is generally a very safe city to be in. There are always people around in the city centre so there is no fear of being in an isolated situation. There is a bit of a homeless population at the city centre but generally these people are harmless. Yelling out to you or asking for change is the most that they will do. There are so many areas to explore and walking around at night is usually very safe. The crime rate in Brisbane is not very high.
Posted: February 8, 2025No issues during the day. I do worry about walking anywhere at night with the actions of men, as there’s not always other people around. Sexual/verbal harassment is not uncommon from people under the influence. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself or ask for help (our public transport drivers are honest). Cars occasionally are targeted for breaking into, and the occasional home depending on what area you’re in.
