Sydney

I've not been in Sydney for a long time, but I've always felt safe even at night. Never experienced any troubles, harassment or theft. I've also felt very safe in public transport. In comparison to other places (in Europe for example) I feel safer here

Melbourne

Melbourne is generally quite a safe city, but as with anywhere, it depends on the place and time. The city — particularly the corner of Elizabeth St and Flinders St, as well as King St — can get dodgy, especially at night. Anywhere with alcohol and large groups of men (e.g., pubs, spoeting events) is more unsafe. The suburbs are generally much safer. That being said, most women who travel here don't experience many issues.

Roleystone

Roleystone is a small community hidden in the hills of perth, while there isnt alot attraction wise, nature is thriving, and it's very safe to roam around, day or night. Due to the large amount of elderly here, practically 0 crime.

Melbourne

Generally, Melbourne CBD is very safe (plenty of people around to help you if u need it), you can walk alone at night with 0 problems. However, be careful of going into the outer city north or west, or the Deep South east (and also on ptv/public transport on those lines) because there are wannabe gangs (usually high school boys) with inflated egos that might cause a ruckus, and also a few druggies here and there. Generally the safest places are the east and the CBD, I go home all the time past 10pm (alone) and I’ve never felt unsafe!

Gold Coast

I’ve always felt safe as a woman on the Gold Coast—whether walking my dog, heading to the beach, or using public transport. The areas I frequent, like Burleigh and Broadbeach, are well-lit and usually busy enough to feel comfortable, even in the evenings. I still take the usual precautions, but overall it’s been a really positive experience.

Melbourne

Really safe, there is limited crime, if you stay in populated areas you feel looked out for, in the evenings you can walk comfortable and you’re unlikely to have anything pick pocketed or robbed. It’s best to keep bags close when in the city

Melbourne, Solo travel

Melbourne is a very nice city. People are lovely, I met a loooot of nice people. The city is safe, I've never felt worried there. Also transportation is very safe and good. I stayed there for 4 month and took the tram dayly without any issues there is a lot of student or people traveling so you can always find people for a trip outside the city.

Melbourne, Group travel

I went to Melbourne for a concert with friends. Unfortunately due to my diet restrictions (gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant) a lot of the restaurants they wanted to go to were not an option for me. However, I was easily able to find places that accommodated my needs and the food was good. I ended up walking around alone a lot and it was so easy to get around. It was safe and I had so much fun. The attractions themselves in Melbourne are really great too. There are a lot of interesting and unique things to do as well as some things that even the locals do. It's a wonderful city to visit and I'm hoping to move there in the next few years!
