Pretty safe. I wouldn't walk at night around though. Mainly kids stealing cars. Lock your doors and hide you car keys at night. Also lock your car doors when driving. Other than that, Australia is pretty safe
Posted: November 1, 2024Gold Coast is safe majority of the time. There’s is a bit of youth crime in certain suburbs but more so just young kids messing around. Places like surfers paradise I would be more worried about as it is much more of a party scene and people have been attacked before.
Posted: October 30, 2024Phillip island is a relatively small community with a large number of tourist, the area is very safe and I would feel comfortable anywhere at night in Phillip island, however public transport is relatively poor, with bus interruptions frequently
Posted: October 29, 2024The central coast is safe, gosford city at night may be slightly less safe but all surrounding suburbs are safe. I’ve never had a problem in gosford as long as you are smart and watchful. I worked there for 7 plus years and feel it is mostly safe

Cairns is a beautiful place, but it does have its social problems like many places. I wouldn't recommend a solo female walking at night by herself, as I don't feel comfortable doing that. During the day in public areas you should be fine. Make sure you lock up at night.
Posted: October 27, 2024Extremely safe, I've walked the streets at 3am in the city & whilst lighting could be better, I haven't had any problems with running into safety concerns. There's also almost always a police station near by.

Grew up here and lived here until I moved away as an adult. It has always been a safe little Aussie town, has become a lot more touristy now so it caters to visitors and treats them well as they are a huge part of the economy. Lots of places to eat, very walkable, just a loop around the 2 main streets really.
Posted: October 12, 2024I feel like Melbourne is quite safe to walk around at night as a solo female traveller, especially in the CBD. Like anywhere in the world, don't go down dark alleyways or get into cars with strangers and you will be more than fine!

Sydney is a very clean and safe city. I'm staying in Cronulla, aka The Shire and it's a great place to stay. There is a super clean beach, public transport and shops, supermarkets and cafes. I walk alone at night with no problem at all

It is good. I have walked alone at night plenty of times, as long as I stay in light, populated areas it is fine. Petty crime is quite low, I’ve left my belongings unattended in a few places and had no problems. You just want to be careful around the Hamilton and Mayfield area. There are only a few areas I exercise caution (Hamilton and Mayfield mainly) but I have never felt unsafe, just cautious!
