Adelaide

I personally feel no danger, I have once had my phone stolen but there was no danger involved. I had left my phone unattended at the beach. I have taken public transport and did not worry. Night time as a woman I always stay alert but I’ve never felt like I needed to watch over my shoulder.

Ipswich City

Relatively safe, as long as you are aware of your personal safety and don't put yourself in unsafe situations. People are pleasant, and there are a lot of surveillance cameras in Ipswich.

Thirroul

I walk around late at night as a girl but it’s really safe and I’m not as worried as I probably should be haha. But it’s a small community so everyone knows each other and is friendly so I recommend the location for sunbathing at the beach or going for a hike/walk. Not many people walking around late at night tho

Perth

Perth is generally a very safe city. I am comfortable to go out at night on my own and use public transport. I feel there is less crime here than in other major cities in other countries. Just take the sensible precautions.

Blue Mountains National Park

The blue mountains is one of the safest, if not the safest, places I have lived. The people are generally friendly and calm on the surface. However, there do tend to be more concerning behaviours towards Katoomba. But, there aren't enough of them to be worried. And, if you are hiking alone in the bush, in a non touristy area, I would just try to avoid coming across another lone person in general. I've always had good experiences with other lone hikers... Well I've had weird ones actually 😂 which is fine. But, just in case. People do at times go into the bush to do illegal stuff because there's nearly zero chance of getting caught.

Melbourne

Melbourne is a great place to live, work and travel. In terms of risk to safety it's relatively low. Crime does happen but it's not unsafe to be here, travel alone or be anywhere after dark. Police are extremely approachable should anything happen.

Is Australia worth visiting?

Travel rating

4.4 /5

Melbourne, Couple travel

Pretty boring. We drove the great ocean road up here in may. That was amazing If you expect european grandure you will not find it in Melbourne, or anywhere in Australia, really. Definitely cool place, the thrift stores are cool but insanely overpriced, the alternative scene is insanely pretentious and there is nothing really grand or wow! To do. The restaurants and cafe’s however are great

Australia, Family travel

We rented a camper and travelled from Darwin to Sydney. We were there for three weeks, but I must admit, we had a long distance to cover and there was a part when we were driving for three straight days without any particular activity. But it was all worth it to be able to go to Heron Island and do diving and snorkeling in a Great Barier Reaf - unforgettable experience!! I can't really say a lot about food cause we brought freeze dry food with us (which I recommend doing if you like me don't like toast bread, and beside, finding a grocery store wasn't an easy task)- the same goes for accomodations, but finding a campsite was not ever a problem.
