Perth is a safe city like almost all Australia. I think that you can easy walk on the streets even in night time without any problem at all and the people around are nice and helpful in case something happen. Police is everywere and ready to help in case of needs.

Perth is incredibly safe! I would exercise caution in certain outer suburbs at night, and I would be careful to travel anywhere alone at night, no matter where it is in the world, but I’ve never had any issues myself growing up in Perth.
Posted: August 28, 2024Perth is generally a safe city. As with all cities, exercise caution. There is culture of drinking and bad behaviour so younger women should be alert. Mostly in areas like Northbridge. Otherwise, a sleepy laid back town.
Posted: August 10, 2024Like most major cities, the city centre feels a like dodgy after dark. But overall I'm not concerned with muggings or being physically assaulted. Public transport is safe but be careful with having to take connecting buses/trains as they don't come often later in the night.

Perth is a very safe place. In any problem areas (nightclubs primarily) there is a strong police presence to protect people from drunkards/etc. The police in Perth are safe to interact with, and friendly/helpful when approached - I would approach them in any situation, tense or otherwise. Public transport is well-lit, and I've never experienced an issue on it. In the evenings, transperth (transit system) guards will often take trains or buses, which adds an extra layer of safety.
Posted: June 28, 2024Overall I would say it’s pretty safe. The city area has lots of homeless people and fights/brawls are common but there’s security/police at night. Getting familiar with places helps you feel more secure as well!

Perth is fairly safe place, Perth is made up of many suburbs and some suburbs may not be as safe as others. The city in the day and night is okay. Pretty late at night drunk people might bother you especially if you catch public transport. Most of the time they are annoying and just want to talk.
Posted: June 14, 2024As safe as any Australian city, the usual city precautions should be taken, but people are generally friendly and there is not normally a threat of harassment or physical danger. I feel safe when I am out, day and night.

Perth is extremely safe for female travellers (Well any traveller really) There are obviously places you will need to have your guard up at for example Northbridge late at night over the weekend but this is mostly due to antisocial behaviour nothing else.
Posted: June 5, 2024Generally good but not very safe for asian females, not as serious as be raped or killed, but it’s quite annoying when those homeless come to you and screaming, scared you and being quite rude to you… I would say it’s nice for most of the people, but need to avoid particular places and time

Perth feels very safe! The Aussie way of life is welcoming and warm. The beaches are incredible and the weather is usual pretty good- though windy at times. Australia is an adventurers dream with all of the rugged land and amazing people. You can find some great hostels and lots of room shares. It’s not the cheapest place to travel but with the right planning doesn’t have to break the bank. Perth is certainly more quiet than the east coast but it’s a natural paradise and I will be back / recommend it for a first time solo trip for any woman!
Posted: May 10, 2024Experienced: November, 2022Oh, I love Perth! I didn't have high expectations for it when I traveled there. Eventually, I was enchanted by it. Rottnest Island is an absolute must-see. You can rent bikes there to explore the island. It was such fun! The Margaret River wine region is reportedly also amazing! I hope to be able to travel there in December when we return to visit my fiancé's family for Christmas!

I'll be travelling alone over the next couple of months and will be spending Christmas and New Year's in London or Western EU. Keen to meet people who are also up for exploring, going out to bars and clubs, checking out events or getting together to celebrate Christmas away from home. ☃️🎉
