I have been to the Sunshine coast more than once, albeit some years ago now, the 1st time with my brother, then the next 2 times it was with my Mum. I absolutely love it there on all levels. Have also been to the Gold Coast and love that too

The Sunshine Coast is very safe. I lock my car every night but there haven't been any cars stolen from my neighbourhood in the 10 yrs I've lived there. You can go to cafes and leave your purse on the table without any fear of anyone taking it. I have walked home in the dark at night and felt safe.

Just a very nice suburban area of course different locations in the sunny coast can change like I wouldn’t be wondering alone in Maroochydore at night or a few places. But you always need to be careful in the suburbs. But overall as a local it’s pretty much a safe space for most women. Just depends on what you’re doing.
Posted: March 16, 2025The Sunshine Coast is extremely safe in most areas. I would avoid areas like Nambour especially after dark but other than that I never feel unsafe being alone after dark. Most locals are very friendly or just keep to themselves
