Brisbane is normally pretty safe. There are heaps of sketchy characters around on public transport and at night. Clubbing is generally okay but always go with some friends as men can be very gross and touchy.
Posted: September 6, 2024Brisbane city is very safe during the day, there are constantly people nearby, however I wouldn’t recommend walking by yourself at night just in case. We have lots of safe suburbs, but there are some dodgy ones unfortunately.

Brisbane is generally safe and has a thriving nightlife so there is often people all around. There can be some catcalling or unwanted attention, as we do have a high level of addiction and homelessness in the city. It is generally safe and comfortable to travel on public transport, particularly busses and there is often security at night. Overall I stay on guard but I have never been attacked or assaulted or had anything stolen my entire life, so I regard it as a safe city.
Posted: August 7, 2024As someone who has lived in Brisbane their whole life it is a very safe city. Of course it has its “dangerous” areas but for the most part you will be safe and will rarely ever get harassed. And almost certainl, never assaulted.
Posted: June 25, 2024Brisbane is overall pretty safe but you always need to be careful especially with the current surge of youth crime and car theft. But if you use common sense you should be fine and there is very minimal pickpockets and that kind of crime.

As with any city, there are good and bad suburbs. But honestly I go walking all the time at night time by myself as a young woman and I always feel so safe. Brisbane is a very safe city, but just follow your gut first and foremost for every situation.
Posted: June 23, 2024Feels like I can still go home from a night out of parties at 3am without a hair out of place. Unless you go over to fortitude valley that's where majority of druggies and homeless population kind of convene.
Posted: June 20, 2024Respectful and chill place. Most people are kind. Once I took a bus, my card beeped failure. A lady comfort me and said no worries. It's no work sometimes. After that circumstances, I felt calm and was thankful that lucky to get warm anyway.
Posted: June 17, 2024Brisbane is really safe. People always say to be really worried in cities but I would say Brisbane is a very safe city. Ofcoarse it does depend where you live. I’ve been lucky enough to live in a really safe part of Brisbane, right near the uni, and I always feel safe walking home from uni really late at night. We leave doors and stuff unlocked and I feel just as safe as a I would in a small town. However, I recognise that part of Brisbane, just like all cities, have parts which aren’t like this and Ofcoarse in the city and stuff you have the general concerns of safety that most women have
Posted: May 31, 2024During the day time, and depending on the location, most of Brisbane is extremely safe. I’ve never had any issues during daylight hours, however I’d always proceed with caution at night. I’m saying this, I’ve walked around my neighbourhood in the early hours of the morning and nothing has ever happened.

There are plenty of nice cafes and places to eat! I also love walking by the river at Kangaroo Point and New Farm or attending a salsa class in West End. However, safety at night can be a concern, I wouldn’t walk alone at night.
Posted: July 9, 2024Art galleries are very cool. Great free walking tour from the Brisbane greeters. Kayak through Brisbane guided tour- fun experience but would recommend just paying to hire the kayak as it wasn’t much of a tour. I stayed in fortitude valley, and the other travellers where mostly in groups and aged 18- 24
