Berlin is fun! Its up to what you travel preferences are. Of course if you are up for night life then its the best place. When it comes to food or just experincing the german culture, i would recommend other smaller cities! Its also not the safest place for female travellers, just the atmosphere in the city especially evening hours and in the city centre is just creep!
Posted: February 7, 2025I would say since i travelled with a friend so i had the advantage of not being at a disadvantageous position with regards to safety as compared to a solo traveler. Like every big city there are certain areas that are safer than others. Some places around Alexanderplatz felt a little sketchy after dark but otherwise it was okay.
Posted: February 2, 2025We went specifically for a concert with Berliner philharmonie and it was great! Absolutely amazing musicians! We stayed at a place called easyhotel and it was actually really nice! I recommend buying things from Aldi if you are with a tight budget! We also checked the zoo and did some sightseeing. It was nice but the public transport was a bit confusing… I didn’t feel safe being by my self in the evening but I didn’t actually feel threatened by anybody. You should visit!
Posted: January 27, 2025I recommend you to visit different food spots for every meal every day. The food was amazing! There is a lot of different and international option. You don‘t have to visit the most popular and expensive ones with people lining up outside, even the small bakeries/cafes are very good!

I went to Berlin for 3 says with 2 friends and I felt very safe. We went to see christmas market and its beeeautiful! I recommend go on december because of that and try the hot wine (5€ just the drink, 10€ if u want to keep the CUP) pls. We paid 5€ to entry. The city is so clean, and quiet (too quite tho). You have a lot of things to see from holocausto and its heavy stuff. I tried a lot of different beers and the hot dog in german is unbeliaveable. 3 days its more than enough!

I felt safe because a lot of people are open-minded, and in such a big city, you don't feel alone. The great thing is that there are all kinds of people. I really love going to Berlin Mitte in the spring and summer. It's such a great place for shopping for good clothes, eating yummy food, and the vibe is refreshing and nice.

I love Berlin! I felt safe and sound. Night life was amazing, the hostel and hosts were great. Tresor techno club was very tourist friendly. 22 euro for 8 h of dance. Food was great! I will definitely visit again 😊

I love Berlin. It's my favorite city. There are museums and thrift stores everywhere. The atmosphere of the biergaten is super cool. I went there with my family, as a couple and solo, and each time, it was a great experience.

When I was in Berlin I felt safe, I meet so many good people who became my friends... It is really a big city so if don't have a bike , you will have to pay an average amount for public transport. It is a strange and astonishing city, don't miss it !
Posted: August 25, 2024Berlin has beautiful parks and outdoor pools. I have also experienced the Balinese inspired sauna Vabali which was amazing. Biking in the parks when it’s dark felt unsafe, lots of drug dealers. Overall, the city is a mix of trashy charming places. It isn’t very well maintained nor cleaned, lots of trash on the ground.

Sexual harassment is definitely something most women experience occasionally in Berlin. Other than that it’s fairly safe. However I do not walk alone in any park when it’s dark (except when there’s lots of people). Only wear a bag you can properly close. Don’t leave your valuables lying around in a park or public transport etc. Public transport is good but if anything happens you need to be really loud because in Berlin people are used to hear fights anywhere, so they don’t react. It needs to be clear that you need support.
Posted: February 9, 2025As a woman, I do not feel unsafe in Berlin. My personal experience is that as a woman I do not get robbed or threatened. I only know men that made these experiences of being robbed or threatened. As a woman though, getting sexual harrasment as in cat calling is something I grew up with and am used to in Germany very much like in all other places I have been to so far. I know of women that experienced other forms of sexual harrassment on the streets such as touching, kissing, physical violence and attempted rape. And I have experienced violenced with men living in Germany. But overall I would not consider Berlin more dangerous for women than other big cities in Europe. If you don't trust or chat with strangers on the street, you will usually not get into trouble.
